Manhattan Should Have All Power Back Today, Con Ed Says
Source: Bloomberg
Manhattan, slowed by power outages, flooded subways and closed markets since Sandy struck Oct. 29, should have electricity fully restored by the end of today, Consolidated Edison Inc. (ED) spokesman Robert McGee said.
About 570,000 Con Ed customers remain without power, down from 900,000 after Sandy, the biggest Atlantic storm on record, battered the East Coast, killing at least 90 people in the U.S.
Weve made some significant progress, McGee said in an interview today with Michael McKee on Bloomberg Radios Bloomberg - The First Word. We do hope to get all of Manhattan back by the end of the day today.

Con Ed, which gave dry ice to people with powerless refrigerators, said it expects to restore power to the vast majority of its affected customers by Nov. 11. All of its underground networks in Manhattan will be back online by tomorrow, said Sara Banda, a spokeswoman for the New York-based utility.

(62,530 posts)power back to Manhattan, given everything that has happened, is good work on them.
Now if Jersey can get power back to my brother that would be great.
