Milwaukee CEO warns of 'personal consequences' if Obama is elected

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Mike White, the chairman and owner of Rite-Hite, a major Milwaukee manufacturer of industrial equipment, told employees in an email this week that all employees "should understand the personal consequences to them of having our tax rates increase dramatically if President Obama is re-elected, forcing taxpayers to fund President Obama's future deficits and social programs (including Obamacare), which require bigger government."

The email stunned some employees. One employee said he felt threatened by the email. "It's a good company, but for this to come out, it's absurd," the employee said.

The employee said even supervisors were surprised by the tone of the email.

(snip)

In his email, White said neither he nor the company wanted to “prejudice any employee for their political views and totally respect your right to vote as you choose. I am simply trying to present the facts as I know them and to protect the business you have helped build! Please think carefully about your vote on Nov. 6.”

Ancient Rome must have been something like this. So much corruption and out and out political insanity. Livelihoods are sacrosanct in this country and to have an implied threat as ....all these CEO's who are threatening jobs if POTUS is reelected need to go to jail. This is just wrong.

who defend it; but who could believe reports of what goes on every day among the inhabitants of some countries, who could really believe that one man alone may mistreat a hundred thousand and deprive them of their liberty? Who would credit such a report if he merely heard it, without being present to witness the event? And if this condition occurred only in distant lands and were reported to us, which one among us would not assume the tale to be imagined or invented, and not really true? Obviously there is no need of fighting to overcome this single tyrant, for he is automatically defeated if the country refuses consent to its own enslavement: it is not necessary to deprive him of anything, but simply to give him nothing; there is no need that the country make an effort to do anything for itself provided it does nothing against itself. It is therefore the inhabitants themselves who permit, or, rather, bring about, their own subjection, since by ceasing to submit they would put an end to their servitude. A people enslaves itself, cuts its own throat, when, having a choice between being vassals and being free men, it deserts its liberties and takes on the yoke, gives consent to its own misery, or, rather, apparently welcomes it. If it cost the people anything to recover its freedom, I should not urge action to this end, although there is nothing a human should hold more dear than the restoration of his own natural right, to change himself from a beast of burden back to a man, so to speak. I do not demand of him so much boldness; let him prefer the doubtful security of living wretchedly to the uncertain hope of living as he pleases. What then? If in order to have liberty nothing more is needed than to long for it, if only a simple act of the will is necessary, is there any nation in the world that considers a single wish too high a price to pay in order to recover rights which it ought to be ready to redeem at the cost of its blood, rights such that their loss must bring all men of honor to the point of feeling life to be unendurable and death itself a deliverance?

Here.

Maybe they want to serve him? There's 1400 employees, one cheap-ass tyrant who wants to put the tax burden of running a business onto the taxpayer. You can't be dependent on Mr. Charlie for a job and be free of him at the same time.

On the other hand, owner-boy, the reason this is in the papers is because one or more of your serfs spoke out

Same guy, "Village Trustee" in River Hills, which is Milwaukee-speak
for Westchester/Beekman Place/the Hamptons/MostPoshAddressInTown.

http://wiscoprogressive.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/surprise-wealthy-walker-donors-broke-the-law/

As if it should come as any surprise, today we learn that complaints have been filed by the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign against Gov. Scott Walker and several donors for exceeding the $10,000 campaign finance limit. The largest donor was Village of River Hills Trustee Michael White, who gave a whopping $15,000. Curious about the type of person who can afford to exceed campaign giving limits by $5,000...

Isn't it obvious to everyone, as it appears to be to Mr. White -- these guys
just aren't rich enough. The small sums they find in between their couch
cushions, and in the pockets of pants that are going out to the dry cleaners,
should be theirs to invest as they see fit.

You think politicians that give them the best rate of return grow on trees?

(In this case, it was Scott Walker, for the recall election last summer.)

We had a large corporation in our town, and the word came down from the boss telling his employees to vote a certain way in a town issue. The vote ended up overwhelmingly in opposition to him. This "do what I tell you" message makes employees pissed off and they do the exact opposite in the privacy of the voting booth.

Dear Mr. White,

You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to intimidate your employees concerning the upcoming election. I would never work for you, I feel sorry for anyone that works for you, and I'll do my best to make sure that my employer never uses your products. I feel that what you did is not only unethical, it's against the law:

Voting Rights Act of 1965.
"No person, whether acting under color of law or otherwise, shall intimidate, threaten, coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for (federal) office."

Here's the contact info page link: http://www.ritehite.com/index.php

Let's tell Mr. White he should either pay up or step down.

The only taxes anybody is talking about increasing are his personal income taxes.

That has nothing to do with his business.

Besides, if he can't support the health care law he should move to a country with laws more to his liking.

The result of the E-mail below was that he singled out a young undecided voter, pressuring her to vote for Romney...for reasons cited below. I congratulated her just now for holding her ground. She doesn't like it when people tell her what to do. She's going to vote for Obama.

I wrote a rebuttal letter disputing each of the company president's claims by citing evidence to the contrary, but he and I already had it out in person. Basically, I told him that his letter gives the appearance that management does not value its Democratic workers and if push comes to shove, those will be the first employees let go. He was very uncomfortable with my assessment and assured me that was not so.

Republican frustration at seeing the results of Obama's GOTV machine is showing.

:ABC companys’ President’s: Thoughts Today

I’m as sick as you are of the commercials and robo-calls put out by both parties, most of which are exaggerations or outright lies. If you are one of the many that only get there facts or develop your political thoughts based on those ads I thought I would try to uncover some facts.

Number 1, the Occupy Movement folks and now the Democrats use it in their ads, believe the Mortgage and real estate problem in the US was created by “The Big Bad Banks” and the Bush Administration. See below a quick excerpt from WIKI ANSWERS....THANKS DEMOCRATS! :cited opinion bashing Clinton:

<snip>

Next is the Deficit Issue : Do you spend 30% more than you take in each month ? The Federal Government will take in $2.5 Trillion and spend $ 3.6 Trillion in 2012…………..
The issue here is the current congress and president want to spend more money than they take in, don’t know how to do it effectively (say-create business friendly envirornments that create jobs) They have given/loaned money to Solar Company Solyndra ( $500 million lost)...:goes on to site a Fox News article trashing Solyndra:

OBAMACARE:
Some parts of it I believe are good for America but like anything you shouldn’t try to remove a few lawn weeds by killing all of the grass and putting in new sod (should you) ?
The Congressional Budget office estimates it will cost America 800,000 jobs. Some of those may be here at :this company:…….We get 25% of our revenue from :this company’s: division, so when the employers start dropping coverage to let their employees get coverage through the “new state exchange” believing they will save money or save being fined….we will lose…..
The Federal government with this law requires you to buy insurance or pay a fine. They require HealthCare companies to spend 80% of the premiums on Healthcare. Guess where the companies are finding savings to be able to meet that “law” and stay in business ?? Cut commissions to the agents who sell for them (That’s us !!) I wonder if anyone of you believes the government should be allowed to dictate how much any business must spend or keep a s profit ?? Example: The :business: down the street must only keep 10% of its revenue for profit and spend all the rest…….Business owners and investors invest their money to make a profit and America has always been a place where that is believed in, sought by others coming to this country and made us able to grow into the envy of the rest of the world !!
Obamacare will add a whole new level of bureaucratic costs to the budget (15,000 new IRS agents to implement the fines) :blah, blah, blah...:
