President Obama on Wednesday criticized Senate candidate Richard Mourdock's controversial comments on rape, saying that the Indiana Republican was wrong when he called rape "something God intended to happen."

"I don't know how (they) come up with these ideas," Obama said during a taping of "The Tonight Show" in Burbank, Calif. "Rape is rape. It is a crime."

"These various distinctions about rape don't make too much sense to me, don't make any sense to me," he said, and adding that Mourdock's comments show why men should not be left to make decisions on womens' issues.

that makes some people more valuable, more worthy, than others, then one's assessment of one's own experiences/thinking validates those hierarchical assumptions about one's worth. When things go wrong, that is always the result of the personal permanently bad traits of others and one's own part in a problem is always the result of non-personal situational factors (such as other people) temporarily affecting one's good traits.

That's called "attribution error" and research shows that it is very reliably distributed throughout populations, but I don't know if there are differences in attribution error between cultures.

What people don't realize is a rapist if convicted will serve about 5 years in jail.

If the victim is forced by the government to bear the child, the rapist can apply for visitation after he gets out of prison.

If the rapist is convicted of a lesser crime, sexual battery for example, he'll serve about two years in prison.

Then he can apply for visitation.

If the rapist isn't prosecuted... there's nothing but bad news for the victim and the child.

The perpetrator or convicted felon can apply for visitation at their local Family Court AND the court will side with the perpetrator AGAINST the mother.

At the expense of the taxpayer the judge may appoint an advocate or even an attorney to aid the perpetrator or felon in securing visitation through the court.

Imagine the victim being FORCED by the Court to turn the child over to their rapist every other weekend, half the summer and every other Christmas.

What do the republicans have to say about this?

Wade. Mitt Romney, Obama's Republican challenger, has said that he would appoint justices to the court that would support overturning the 1973 decision affirming a woman's right to have an abortion.

"Roe vs. Wade is probably hanging in the balance," Obama said.

12. What I found most offensive about Mourdock's comment was the part he continues to stand by.

He "clarified" that he did not mean it was God's will that a woman be raped, but rather it was God will that she became pregnant. Whose fucking evil God "wills" pregnancy on rape victims?! 44% of rape victims are under 18 according to statistics. That is one heinous God, certainly not the God that I was taught loved us.

Christianity teaches that God gave us free will, not His will. So if women get raped and get pregnant, women should be allowed to exercise their God-given free will and choose whether to give birth or get an abortion (presumably abortion clinics are God's will too).

know or understand that if women who are raped are forced to have their rapist children, the rapist have the same rights to the child as the mother has? What woman in her right mind would want this for herself and her child? This is a law in 31 states. My niece is a child advocacy attorney in the state of Texas and she informed me of this law. I then went on line and looked it up and found a story on CNN from in August which involved a woman who had through this torture. This law is ridiculous and no woman should want herself, or anyone she knows to live through a situation such as this. These rapist can disrupt the lives of innocent children and turn their world upside down, and a vote for Mitt is a vote for this nonsense.

The douche commercials seem to tell me a walk on the beach with my best friend will explain all -- but she doesn't seem to know either.
