(12,233 posts)choose the correct winner. Influence from their homes and their perception from images on their TV screen give an idea on how the household of the children are thinking in general.
And the 7/11 coffee cup choice shows Obama in the lead.
Let's face it, Romney comes off as a total Plutocrat and Lyin Ryan looks like he's lying every time he opens his mouth.
No one gets warm fuzzy feelings over Romney.

(57,936 posts)or Democrat and didn't know the difference, "Romney's the one who is for the rich, isn't he?"
That's all you need to know. Romney is the one for the rich. Every school kid can understand that.
With much gratitude to the person who got the tape of Romney talking about the 47%.
And also, much gratitude to Occupy Wall Street for making it very clear to average Americans that big business is not on the side of "us people."

(2,730 posts)Look at the North Carolina vote. It is that close in North Carolina. I would not be suprised if parents voted the same way in North Carolina.

(2,730 posts)The map is interesting, with the exception of South Carolina and Virginia. It looks like the Blue and Red State divide. In some Red States Romney won by a large margin. In the Blue States except North Carolina, Obama won by large margins. It looks almost similar to 2008. South Carolina hasn't been Polled in a while and the last Poll was close. Could South Carolina be a surprise? They do have a large African American population in that State. They have had problems with voter suppression by the GOP.

(8,933 posts)except a couple she didn't really care about.... social security being one. I tried to explain to her why she should care about social security. I said, who do you think is going to have to take care of me when I get old if there is no social security... you are, Emily. She didn't engage too much. I don't blame her really.... she is 13. She's not thinking about old age right now. But at least she lines up with obama.

(14,916 posts)because Romney would kill Medicare and Medicaid, and that he didn't think it was right to take aid away from old and poor people. And that he didn't want his own grandparents to do without.
This in a home where my husband & I cancel out each other's votes.
(Granted, my kid knows about Medicare and Medicaid because I'm a social worker, but still)
The kids know who is trustworthy and who isn't.
