Springsteen plays for Obama campaign

Source: USA Today

7:57AM EDT October 13. 2012 - Rocker Bruce Springsteen once said he wouldn't perform during the 2012 presidential campaign.

The Boss has changed his mind.

President Obama's campaign said today that Springsteen will appear along with ex-President Bill Clinton a pro-Obama rally Thursday in Parma, Ohio.

"Bruce Springsteen's values echo what the President and Vice President (Biden) stand for: hard work, fairness, integrity" said Jim Messina, Obama for America's campaign manager. "His appearances will help with our get out the vote effort in these critical swing states and we are thrilled with his ongoing support."

for his endorsements. The attacks also extended to candidates he supported and he was trying to avoid that. New Jersey is usually a blue state but there are some really nasty groups there.

I know cause I spent his birthday with him...and 55,000 others, at the Meadowlands (I refuse to call it by it's corporate name it makes me ill). Not to mention all the other arenas and stadiums he's been selling out over the past several months. Music lovers don't care one bit.

it was his original reason for not wanting to play at campaigns for President Obama. He felt he was doing more harm than good. Fortunately he has been convinced otherwise. Do a search on Hal Turner and you will see how ugly the extremists in NJ can get. There is a long history of the KKK and white supremacist groups in parts of NJ and PA.

Watch the right trash the Boss for doing this, but they're totally fine with Kid Rock endorsing Mittens. I'm not a huge Bruce fan, but he is a musical genius compared to Kid Rock. Kid Rock? Seriously? Can you get any lamer? Would you rather be endorsed by the Beatles or Journey?

Actually I would take the Stones over the Beatles any day. Never a Beatles fan. I would probably even take Journey

The right wing will shrug it off. "So what that Obama has Springsteen and Clooney? We have Chuck Norris and Ted Nugent!"

during the Reagan years. Born in the USA and Scarecrow were anthems to us. Springsteens songs of steel workers and Mellencamps songs of farmers.......
Nugent sings about his wee willy winky-and prepubescent girls, Chuck Norris has taken a few to many blows to the noodle.
I'll take Bruce any day of the week and 3 times on sunday over kid washed up and dain bramaged.
