The embassy security official was identified as Qassem Aqlani, in his fifties. He was on his way to work when the gunman on a motorcycle opened fire at him and fled the scene. The attack was in western Sanaa, close to his home, while the embassy is located in eastern Sanaa.

Aqlani had been working for the U.S. Embassy for nearly 20 years.

Also

The latest attack in Yemen, however, may be more tied to domestic tensions. The assassination resembles other attacks targeting Yemeni intelligence, military and security officials in retaliation for a wide military offensive by Yemen's U.S.-backed government against al Qaeda's branch in the country.

Prayers to Mr. Aqlani's family, friends and colleagues.

(Romney will no doubt be attempting to make political hay of this any second now. Ready that insulting smirk of yours, Mittles!)

I'd look towards the 1%'ers in the USA. This is a classic mob type hit. All done with the hopes of putting one of their own, 1%, in the oval office. IMO

It's not like they haven't pulled that kind of shit before. (See: Iran-Contra, Reagan's "October Surprise" against Jimmy Carter.)

This has become the MO of the puke party.
They've been working earnestly to win at all cost since the fall of Nixon. The pukes took that one personally and are still trying to rectify that

Yemeni man working with US embassy shot dead in Sanaa.

A Yemeni man working on security issues with the US embassy in the capital Sanaa has been killed in a drive-by shooting.

Qassem Aqlani was going to work when he was shot dead by a man on a motorbike, Yemeni and embassy officials said.

Mr Aqlani had worked at the embassy for nearly 20 years, AP news agency said.

According to another report, he was in charge of co-ordinating an investigation into an attack on the embassy last month.
