Bill Clinton works Las Vegas crowd, mocking Mitt Romney

Source: LA Times

LAS VEGAS — Nearly a week after President Obama stopped his campaign's momentum with a lackluster debate performance, former President Clinton sought Tuesday to help him recover by offering a withering new critique of Mitt Romney.

"I had a different reaction to that first debate than a lot of people did," Clinton told nearly 2,000 supporters at a campaign rally for Obama and other Democrats. "I thought, 'Wow, here's old moderate Mitt. Where ya been, boy?'"

Clinton compared Romney's performance in Denver to a sales job at the Boston private equity firm where the Republican presidential nominee made his personal fortune.

"It was like one of these Bain Capital deals, you know, where he's the closer," Clinton said. "So he shows up, doesn't really know much about the deal and says, 'Tell me what I'm supposed to say to close.' The problem with this deal is the deal was made by severe conservative Mitt," alluding to Romney's description of himself in February as having been a "severely conservative" governor in Massachusetts.

I guess I should've read the article first.

Actually, Bill should be out giving speeches all over the country each and every day up until Election Day.

if not for the way the pukes did Carter, Clinton and now Obama. They did everything in their power to stop any progressive strides these fine three Presidents tried to do for us 99%'s.
Yeah I guess you could say I'm still pissed at how Carter was treated, won't ever get over it either.

"Irish diplomacy" : "The art of telling you to go to hell, and have you looking forward to the trip." Don't know if Bill has any Irish in him but he sure has that gift. Stick it to Mitt, Big Dog!

If Clinton could had been reelected there would never had been a Iraq invasion. He fully resisted the PNAC's efforts to gets us into a hopeless war. Clinton regarded the PNAC war mongers who will once again dominate a Republican presidency if Romney is elected as certifiably insane. He was fully aware of the terrorist threat that was ignored by the Bush administration who could only dream of an excuse to invade and dominate Iraq in a grand plan to steal their oil. There is a good chance that 9/11 would never have happened on his watch. He listened to Richard Clarke who was ignored by Rice and her gang of PNAC war mongers who had him demoted and told to shut up.

The surplus that was generated during his terms would have gone to paying down the debt and coupled with the trillions that were squandered in Iraq would have been transformed into American jobs, education and infrastructure insuring the continued prosperity of the nation. Instead it was stolen from the citizens to provide generous tax cut for his wealthy supporters.

I can only dream. Unfortunately the reality is too frightening to contemplate if this scenario is repeated with the election of Romney that will bring back the PNAC war mongers. Its as foreboding as an impending Apocalypse. The sick, elderly and children condemned as parasites and literally starved to death. My God, the fascists had nothing over these vultures.

And as I stand at a table in a public place and talk to voters, it's what I am hearing from them too.

Romney is a phony. That's all he is. Untrustworthy. Not real. Talk to your family and neighbors about the guilty look on Romney's face. He looks like he has been caught doing something wrong and is about to be spanked -- looks very guilty. He lies all the time.

Bush's lying got us into the Iraq War. We wasted our resources and energy in Iraq. We didn't focus on cleaning up Afghanistan where the real problems were. And now look. While Bush's lies wasted our military power in Iraq, the Taliban organized and fortified itself and we can't fight them effectively.

We don't need another liar in the White House. We need four more years of honesty and Obama. Make sure people hear this.
