Mitt Romney CNN Interview: The 47% Comment Is 'Not What I Meant'

Source: huffingtonpost.com

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney again distanced himself from his infamous 47 percent comments caught on video at a private fundraiser in May, telling CNN in an interview Tuesday night that, "the words that came out were not what I meant."

This is the second time in as many weeks that the Republican nominee abandoned his position that the sentiment he expressed when he called 47 percent of the country government-dependent, self-identified victims was correct but poorly worded. Last week, he told Fox News' Sean Hannity that the comment was "completely wrong" as opposed to ineloquently stated.

And, of course, Wolf Blitzer let him skate on that non-explanation. No one, to his face, has yet to call Romney on the outrageousness of the comments in that video. That includes President Obama of course.

Wolfie could have brought up the fact that Romney called nearly half the electorate victims who think they are entitled to food, etc. ....but of course he did not. If Obama sleepwalks through the next debate too I don't see how the polls continue to slide toward Romney even more, and by the time the third debate rolls around it may be too late to bring them back around.

You were speaking to a group of people that share your sentiments and you were speaking from exactly how you feel about the 47%. There is no mistaking what you meant. You got caught and you are doing what you have done all your life when you got yourself into trouble. Your being a weasel and you are trying to lie your way out.

1st Romnocchio goes running to Faux and squeals like a little piggy about how "wrong" he was, and now he goes to CNN and says that it's "not what he meant".

So, he was wrong saying something he didn't mean?

Wtf kind of bullshit excuse is that for a pretender who wants to be President?

Romuloid never does TV interviews and instigates 2 about the same topic, within a few days of each other, just after a debate where that topic wasn't brought up.

He's obviously gagging to get these ridiculous excuses out there, and most likely seriously miffed he didn't get his chance last week at the debate.

What are the viewing figures for the CNN show he was just on? Add that to the Faux viewership and deduct it from the viewers who watched the debate and you get the amount of people who missed out on these pathetic "zingers" Miffed Mittens never got to use when he hoped the President would bring it up.

Had willard tried to disown it face-face, the president could have slapped him down by pointing out that he'd first said it, then reinforced it, then let it sit for a week. He could have then explained that if he insults foreign heads of state as president he won't have weeks and weeks and advisors galore to fix it for him.

The debate was a debacle, not some diabolical jujitsu move. It's over, he's survived it, but it was awful
