Trump plans big Wisconsin rallies despite White House task force calling for 'maximal' social distan

President Trump has scheduled large campaign rallies this weekend in Wisconsin despite recommendations from the White House Coronavirus Task Force that call for increasing social distancing in the state to the maximal degree possible.
The task force has further flagged La Crosse and Green Bay, the metropolitan areas where Trump plans to gather thousands of supporters Saturday, as coronavirus red zones, the highest level of concern for community spread of the virus, according to a report from the group released Sunday and obtained by The Washington Post.
Wisconsin is listed in the document as the state with the third-highest rate of new cases in the country, with 243 new cases per 100,000 people over the previous week, about 2.6 times greater than the national average. Ahead of Trumps scheduled rally in Green Bay, the Bellin Health System said Tuesday that its hospital in that city is at 94 percent capacity as covid-19 continues to spike in the community.
In addition to the White House task forces guidance, local concern has been growing in Wisconsin about Trumps planned events, which are scheduled for outdoor airplane hangars without universal mask mandates. Gov. Tony Evers (D) said Tuesday in a news briefing that Trump should either cancel the events or require mask-wearing by everyone who attends.

Trump:
We dont call these rallies anymore, because in Dem states like where you have a governor whos a Democrat, youre not allowed to go to church and not allowed to go to a restaurant. Youre not allowed to go to your friends house. You cant move from your house unless youre related to the governor, he said at a rally in Newport News, Va., on Friday.

(6,448 posts)You are cordially invited to have as many superspreader rallies in Wisconsin as you please. Your unprotected sects are waiting for you to vomit your best words and to make fun of as many disabled, elderly, and war dead as your Adderall addiction allows in a 90-minute hatefest.

(3,586 posts)* In my next breath, I'd encourage them to bring backpacks with two weeks' worth of food and perhaps sleeping bags, too. Because I'd surround that entire rally area with police and quarantine the whole damn lot of them, Trump included, for 14 days.
Modern-day problems require modern-day solutions.

(10,930 posts)... On Tuesday, Wisconsin recorded its highest single-day increase in deaths from COVID-19 since May. The states seven-day average in new confirmed cases was three times higher than a month ago and Wisconsin ranked third in new cases per capita over the past two weeks.
The number of people hospitalized, 640, was also an all-time high and an increase of 207 from seven days earlier. (that's from 433 to 607 in just a week -Progree). Hospitals in Green Bay and elsewhere in the state said they were near capacity.

(17,390 posts)It appears that Herman Cain would dispute how deadly COVID-19 is even after he died from it.

According to screenshots of the tweet, Cains account (renamed The Cain Gang by his family) wrote on Sunday, it looks like the virus is not as deadly as the mainstream media first made it out to be.
The tweet also linked to an article from conservative news site Western Journal, which a New York Times investigation found in 2019 was blacklisted from Apple News for containing views rejected by the larger scientific community and Google News for maintaining deceptive business practices.
Cains tweet drew backlash and scorn from other social media users, who pointed out the irony in his Twitter account claiming coronavirus is not as deadly even though he died from the virus in July.
