Two of Kanye Wests electors sue to have him thrown off Virginias presidential ballot
By Graham Moomaw -September 2, 2020
With the help of a high-profile Democratic law firm, Virginia voters who claim they were tricked into signing campaign paperwork supporting Kanye West have filed a lawsuit seeking to block the rapper from appearing on Virginias presidential ballot.
The suit, apparently filed Tuesday in Richmond Circuit Court, asks the court to order election officials to either decertify Wests candidacy or delay printing ballots until the fraud allegations can be sorted out.
With ballots being finalized and sent to printers this week, the last-minute legal battle will determine whether Wests longshot operation, widely seen as a Republican-backed effort to sap votes from Democratic nominee Joe Biden, will or wont be a factor in Virginia.
Perkins Coie, a law firm that represents the Democratic National Committee, is involved in the suit after Democratic Party of Virginia Chairwoman Susan Swecker tried unsuccessfully to convince state election officials to declare Wests paperwork invalid.

In addition to the people saying they were straight-up tricked, lawyers have zeroed in on one particular notary who notarized 8 electors' oaths and is a Kanye elector herself.
If she was being paid by Kanye's campaign, that would be a problem.

(13,903 posts)I have to wonder how Trump cons or black mails these people. Black, white, rich, poor, doesn't matter.
I usually say they are gullible and stupid but I can't help but think with some people Trump is doing something else.
