'Extremely personal' Ghislaine Maxwell files must be released: judge

New York: An American judge ruled on Tuesday that a tranche of documents Ghislaine Maxwell has sought to keep secret must be released by Thursday (Friday AEST).

Maxwell's lawyers had previously argued that information contained in some 80 documents would cause "embarrassment" as they were "extremely personal" in nature.
Details of Ghislaine Maxwell's life are set to be revealed after a court decision.

"The subject matter of these is extremely personal, confidential and subject to considerable abuse by the media," they said in a motion to Loretta Preska, US district judge at the Southern District of New York.

"Courts must exercise their supervisory power over their own records and files to ensure they are not used to gratify private spite or promote public scandal," they continued.

Everyone knows he got together with Epstein's sex slave, a young woman that he'd groomed from the age of either 16 or 17 (there's some conflicting information on her age at the time she was 'recruited'). The girl was manipulated into ... ummm ... servicing people at Epsteins request for years, until she was well past 18.

She was no longer a minor at the time Andrew got with her. At least as far as anyone knows at this point.

Which means it 'looks bad' for him, but he's not in any legal danger. Strictly speaking there's not a law against what he did, esp. not one that applies to really rich people. There's also variability in ages of consent depending on where 'things happened', many places in the world 16 is 'legal age'.

I think there's probably a lot of other people who are a lot more concerned than Andrew is at this point. His reputation is already in the shitter.

into the public sphere willy-nilly. If we're talking about the prosecutors getting that information of course that's a whole different matter. Not quite sure what public interest is served by this, frankly.

It could also taint the jury pool in such a way that her Defense Attorneys can use it as leverage.

25. These are documents from the Virginia Roberts Giuffre civil lawsuit

That suit was settled several years ago, and of course everything was settled privately with no admission of wrong-doing. The documents include Maxwell's testimony with details of her relationship/partnership with Jeffrey Epstein, which she only gave with the understanding that it would be kept private and off the record. So now nothing is "private" any more.

I don't think we'll see anything about Epstein's former friendship with Chump, since it wasn't part of this lawsuit. However there may be discussion about Prince Andrew because he was a friend/client of Epstein's who spent private time with Virginia Roberts Giuffre while she was underage. We shall see.
