HHS secretary says schools shouldn't 'hide behind' CDC virus guidance

Source: American Independent

By Dan Desai Martin -July 7, 2020 4:50 PM

Alex Azar downplayed agency guidance this week meant to keep schools safe for students and teachers.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Tuesday that state and local leaders should not let coronavirus safety guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stop them from fully reopening schools this fall.

"Our CDC guidance is guidance. When it comes to reopening our schools, nobody should hide behind CDC's guidance to not reopen schools," Azar said at a White House event to discuss the topic.

"Our guidance is to enable and empower the reopening of schools and physical attendance by our kids," he added.

The CDC's guidance for schools is focused on ways to slow the spread of coronavirus, and notes that it is not meant to be used in place of local, state, or federal dictates.

Needless to say, this is Trump playing politics with the lives of our children.

If schools aren’t open parents can’t go to work.

If parents can’t go to work the economy suffers.

If the economy suffers unemployment will remain high.

High unemployment jeopardizes Trump’s reelection bid.

They aren't tailored for a lot of different situations.

"local, state, or federal dictates" might be--but they're going to be open ended.

My school district is working out its own policies since the ed agency in-state gave it guidance, as well. Which was mostly the CDCs, but with state, not CDC, authority behind it.

If the CDC gives guidance, who's going to enforce it?

is he pressing on opening schools while infections are rising, uncontrolled? It has to be some advantage to him for the election. See, the schools are open -- now, let's pump the stockmarket (so we can dump it after the election).

I was talking with a friend and their district [S Texas] was looking [before the we took 1st wave tsunami]
of doing 1/2 class Mon/Wed other 1/2 Tue/Thu.

Well, Well, Well let's count the fails

1) kids will be kids and sit there all without playing with including but limited to removal of their mask
2) .....same as #1 but for others mask
3) CV-19 can make it to next day unless EVERY SURFACE of the school is thoroughly disinfected.
4) Being shown that large particle discharge may be caught by a quality mask but NOT the small particle that hang in the air for an extended time.
5) kids will touch and share and rub their eyes.....not good

RETHUGS DON'T CARE....KIDS CAN NOT VOTE.
