Mary Trump's book says the president practices 'cheating as a way of life'
Source: NY Daily News
A forthcoming book by President Trumps estranged niece describes him as a toxic bully who practices cheating as a way of life and made fun of his own father when his health began to deteriorate, according to a Monday press release.

The presidential niece recounts the strange and harmful relationship between her father, Fred Trump, Jr., who died young after a long battle with alcoholism, and her famous uncle, according to Simon & Schuster.
She also recalls the appalling way Donald, Fred Trumps favorite son, dismissed and derided him when he began to succumb to Alzheimers in the late 1990s, the publisher says.
Other explosive portions of the book include vivid descriptions of the twisted values and behaviors Trump picked up as a young man, according to the press release, including:
Financial worth is the same as self-worth; humans are only valued in monetary terms.
A killer instinct is revered, while qualities like empathy, kindness, and expertise are punished.
Taking responsibility for your failures is discouraged.
Cheating as a way of life.

(10,843 posts)Trump's niece affirms everything we know about Trump, a dysfunctional, cruel, petty human being, a man who would taunt his own father in his final days.
Nothing world shattering for those who are clearly anti-Trump. For the true believers? It will simply be another hoax from a disgruntled, jealous relative.
Ugh!

(49,044 posts)what's mentioned on the back cover that was just released, because other psychologists have already written about toddler Trump being more messed up by his mother being very ill, and often absent, when he was two years old.

no surprises whatsoever
Everyone with a brain knew that Trump was a greedy. lying, stupid, incompetent, sociopathic con-man. So none of this is new to us. But I agree that this new book will make no difference to those in his cult. They think he is God's anointed and nothing will change their minds. I have no doubt they will just say that the "Deep State" paid her off to tell lies just to make Trump look bad before the election. Hell, they'll probably send her death threats. The ONLY people this book "might" make an impact on are those independents who are on the fence. (But I must say that those who don't know by now if they are going to vote for Trump or Biden are idiots.)

(10,843 posts)Mary Trump has the vantage point and credibility to write the book having had a front row seat to the family's dysfunction. For the anti-Trump voter she'll be preaching to the choir. Unless, that is, there's some revelation we've neither heard nor read before.
And for the true believers? The revelation(s) would need to be mega-ton explosive. Even then, they'd probably circle the wagons around Trump.
The main benefit of this book will be keeping negative Trump stories circulating in the ether, shoring up the exit planks for former Trump supporters, increasing their resolve.
As for the rest? They're a lost cause as were their Confederate/White Power heroes.
Mary Trump has every right to publish this story. If I were her I'd most likely be doing the same thing believing it was a public service.
All that being said, I'm sick to death of hearing Trump's name, let alone his life story. I don't care about the 'why.' I have no interest in explanations about his cruelty, incompetence or inflated ego. I just want to see the man gone, destroyed, obliterated. As do the rest of us here. Color me impatient. I want Donald Trump smashed like a bug. Before he kills us all.

(9,897 posts)Still wouldn't mover the needle for his cultists, but it would further confirm what all of already know - Donald J. Trump is a sexual predator, pedophile and carries a very unhealthy incestuous lust for his eldest daughter.
His bizarre sexual proclivities aside, he is very clearly a man broken by childhood trauma and a lack of ever seeking therapy to understand why he is what he is.
BTW...I too cannot wait for the blessed day that the headlines blare out "Trump found dead on toilet...incomplete tweet on phone".

I'm just hoping the clinical psychologist takes over at some point and dissects the lot of them thoroughly, especially with regards to Dumdum's desperate need for a daddy figure, now apparently supplied by Putin.

(2,313 posts)We need actual details. I hope the book delivers specifics.
"For example, when he first saw Melania pole dance, he paid Melania's handler $1 million to set up a sexual encounter with the former Slovenian nude model. Melania's handler? Konstantin Putin, the brother of KGB agent and future Russian President Vladimir Putin."
You know, stuff like that. I know he's fucked up.

(3,426 posts)given her profession and the warnings given us by mental health professionals . We are seeing the selected apples ,such as picking the fruit from the fruit stand. Mary Trump is writing about the entire apple orchard. What we will come to know will surpass all we think we already know. Better to know than it is to think that we know. And isn't that Trump's problem in that you cannot tell him anything because he thinks he already knows ?

(32,797 posts)'Memba him? Barrett was an investigative reporter and editor for The Village Voice back when it was doing good journalism in NYC. Mr. Barrett spent much of his professional career following Donald Chump long before anyone else cared or anyone thought he'd ever become pResident. Barrett had a wealth of background information, because this happened before the days of Chump's family and friends clamming up for the press.
Anyway the story I read in Barrett's book was that Freddy Jr. (Mary's father and Donald's brother) had always been the apple of Dad's eye. As a young man in his early 20's Freddy Jr. was being groomed to take over the family business and become the successful son, while Donald was a f*ck-up in school and in life. It's likely that Donald's lifelong need to get revenge started in his teen years when he nursed a grudge against his older brother.
Things slowly changed as Freddy Jr. began to realize he didn't want to work for his father and he hated the real estate business. He really wanted to be an airline pilot. By the time Donald was already in college (just barely passing), he saw an opportunity to get in his father's good graces. He showed an aptitude for real estate management, collecting back rents, evicting people who couldn't pay rent, and doing shrewd deals with suppliers who ended up getting cheated. Donald earned respect from his Dad (for being a nasty business partner apparently) meanwhile Freddy Jr. left the company.
Maybe this brotherly conflict was what triggered Freddy Jr.'s alcoholism that eventually took his life? Wayne Barrett never says in his book but he does make a few connections. He writes that Donald was always a messed up kid, always causing trouble, and the Trump family all knew it.
I do look forward to reading Mary Trump's book because I'm sure she has some private family insights/gossip that were never discussed with outsiders. Another good book: David Cay Johnston is a great investigative reporter who has written a few books about Chump's early life. I recommend reading the books by Wayne Barrett and David Cay Johnston.
