Robert Perino said in a statement to CNN. "Activated Guardsmen are expected to provide security for local monuments and critical infrastructure."

Guard members are expected to stay in the area through July 4 and may number as high as 400, according to CNN.

after the violence and brutality that Trump ordered on American citizens. She also sent away the national guards of other states and the active duty military. It was pretty nasty living here with tear gas, flash bangs, low flying helicopters, sirens, etc. all the time

It's a pity that fucking sadist squatting in the White House doesn't apply that to living people, but Republicans don't think that way in general.

Good for Mayor Bowser for disarming them. That will keep them safer, too. I suppose they're just there to call the cops if a crowd appears.

Can they stop people? Can they arrest people? Can they help the people saying they are trying to keep them from getting hurt pulling on the ropes by themselves?

They can slow people down, try to talk them out of damaging whatever the NG is guarding. They can take out a pocket knife and cut ropes. They can call in the police. They can delay destruction until cops show up.
