Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will deliver remarks in Philadelphia on Tuesday addressing the protests across the country sparked by George Floyds death.
Biden will speak in front of a pooled press on the civil unrest facing communities across America Tuesday morning, his campaign announced in a release Monday night.
Bidens announcement came shortly after President Trumps Rose Garden address in which he said he was dispatching the military across Washington, D.C., in response to the Floyd protests.
The former vice president met with African American community leaders in Wilmington, Del., on Monday and said he would be making national speeches on the future and direction of the country. I need help and advice as we go on as to what I should and shouldnt be doing, he said.

(10,252 posts)Joe Biden will be such a breath of fresh air. Thinking about him as POTUS almost makes me want to start celebrating today.
Biden may turn out not to be a great POTUS, but even a mediocre average POTUS will be a giant compared to the current moral midget. And then again, Biden could turn out to be a truly great POTUS, who leads this country back the virtues of ethical morality, truly equal opportunity, and loving kindness. I'm so ready for basic human decency.

Kicking trump's ass. And not a teleprompter or stutter in sight. Anyone still claiming he's senile should have this speech shoved in their face.

(2,143 posts)Were in the battle for the soul of this nation, what we believe most importantly, who we want to be is all at stake, Biden said.
Across the nation, peaceful protesters have been heard chanting, I cant breathe.
Those were the last words of George Floyd, the African American man who died while Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck as he was being arrested. Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
I cant breathe, Biden said. George Floyds last words. But they didnt die with him. Theyre still being heard. Theyre being echoing across this nation.
Biden says those three words speak to a nation where too often just the color of your skin puts your life at risk.
Were not going to let any president quiet our voice, we wont let those who see this as an opportunity to sow chaos, throw up a smoke screen to distract us from the very real grievances at the heart of these protests, Biden said.
As the protests continue, he says the country can no longer turn away from the systematic racism issues in our country.
