Tennessee fraternity suspended after alcohol enemas

Source: CNN

The University of Tennessee says it has suspended a fraternity chapter indefinitely and may refocus its alcohol education programs after police said a student was hospitalized following a weekend incident involving alcohol enemas.

Twelve Tennessee students were cited with underage drinking and one with disorderly conduct following the incident early Saturday at a Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity chapter house, according to a university spokeswoman.

"Shock would not be an (overstatement)," Tim Rogers, vice chancellor of student life, told reporters Wednesday. "I myself had never heard of what has been alleged."

Knoxville police say they began investigating after a student was taken to the UT Medical Center in critical condition early Saturday with a blood alcohol level of 0.40 -- five times the legal cutoff for driving.

I was a greek. We partied. That was about it.

Oh, we would have a once or twice a year good deed thing, but for the most part it was a social club.

I wonder why large universities continue to have these clubs on campuses.

disgust, but if you know Pike and the rest of these stains on Greek Life (SAE, KA, TKE, AEPi), you will learn this is not surprising.

The good ones (Kap Sig, SAMmy, AGR, Fiji, DTD, ODPhi etc) are never spoken of.

it's there. trust me. even had statues leading up to certain buildings, like adverts for a bar or something (still being debated, but so far my MesoAmerica textbooks are peer reviewing towards "yes&quot .

and it wasn't just alcohol; hallucinogens were used in solution as well. it's actually a lot safer and cleaner for the digestive tract. the extra impurities are rapidly eliminated from the body sparing prolonged exposure.

the big issue with champagne enemas and the like is managing the dosage and the rapidity of absorption. otherwise, if you can control dosage and not "binge drink yourself to death," it's generally a safer method of usage and avoids most hangover issues (as the trace methanol impurities, or other drug impurities, doesn't have as much time to be absorbed before elimination).

back in school that the Mayan people would use alcohol during various religious rites. After a participant became too intoxicated to consume more alcohol, they would be given alcohol enemas believing that the alcohol would bring them closer to the gods.

If this were perpetrated solely by the Spanish, I would seriously have doubts about this. Were the invaders seriously debouched? Absolutely, but from what I understood, this was in practice before the arrival of the Spanish.

They move off campus and continue with the enemas if that is what they want to do.

Is doing this dangerous, sure, but kids of every generation find a way to get off that some do not approve of.

At one time it was goldfish that got people's panties in a knot.

I firmly believe and support an individual’s right in choosing to put anything in, take anything out or modify their body to their hearts desire.

One either believes in individual freedom or one does not, there is no middle ground.

and it acts considerably faster due to the colon's rapid rate of water absorption. that and it can help circumvent some hangover issues as this method leaves the substance internal a very short period before elimination. this interferes with more complicated impurities which take longer to be absorbed to end up lingering in the system.

however it's risky because it's so fast and, well, unless you're measuring things out precisely (requiring nearby sober help), your ass isn't as sensitive to tell you when to stop. i bet these kids tried to 'beer bong' themselves bassackwards as it were. something like this should be measured and monitored; eyeballing it just doesn't cut it.
