Gohmert returns to Congress despite possible coronavirus exposure after physician recommendation

Source: The Hill

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) returned to Congress on Monday, despite potentially being exposed to the coronavirus, saying he was advised by a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) physician that going into self-quarantine isn't necessary.

Gohmert said a House physician informed him that he could have been exposed to the virus at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), in a Twitter statement posted Monday.

The Texas representative said he was then contacted by a CDC physician who said he could go back to Washington.

“We discussed all the specific circumstances of which he was aware along with my circumstances, including that I was and am asymptomatic, he said that all things considered, I was cleared to return to Washington,” Gohmert tweeted.

If you get the virus and get sick, you know it and stay home.

But if you get the virus and never get very sick, you won't know it even if you are contagious.

(Typhoid Mary comes to mind... she didn't get the disease, but gave it to others.)

I wonder if the CDC is providing this concierge service to all members of Congress, or just the one guy who's nuttier then squirrel shit???

By recklessly putting people in a possible serious situation. Shows how little he cares for others, and this idiot is in Congress. Someone else may come along and confront him for doing this. He also puts himself in legal jeopardy if someone gets infected from this. This is how this virus spreads, people ignoring warnings and precautions they need to take.

Trump is providing for getting all his Rethug friends, politicians, staff and family secretly tested and tested as often as they like. No way in hell they would admit it to the public.

That would help validate tRump's lies about the seriousness of this disease outbreak.

Nothing to see here folks, just get back to work......'till you drop over dead........

People's health, indeed their life, is being risked by keeping the name secret.

The GOP sure had no qualms about naming the Ukraine whistleblower.
