D.C. reports first case of coronavirus; CPAC says an attendee at their conference is also infected

Source: wash post

March 7, 2020 at 5:17 p.m. CST

D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser announced the city’s first confirmed case of coronavirus Saturday evening, and the Conservative Political Action Committee said that a person who attended the group’s conference at National Harbor from Feb. 27 to March 1 also had been affected.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said state officials had alerted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the White House, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the state health agency in New Jersey, where the person who attended CPAC was reportedly hospitalized.

Hogan (R) urged people who attended the conference at the resort in Prince George’s County to take their temperature twice a day and notify their health-care provider and local health department if the temperature exceeds 100.4 or if they develop a cough, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.

Anyone with those symptoms should remain at home until they receive instructions about next steps from their health-care provider or local health department, Hogan said in a statement...............

as it has infected quite a few members of their government. If the pattern holds true here, we will all have cause to be grateful to Mother Earth, at least until we start to get it.

If I'm going to dream, I'm going to make it a big one.

Our survival as a nation is at stake here. If our enemies take themselves out by their own actions that is not our fault. It is something of a relief.

I do not hate each individual on the other side. I do hate them as a whole though. If their refusal to believe in science does them in then that's not my problem. We've tried and tried and tried to help them see reality.

If they get the ultimate Darwin award for their ignorance and actions that is entirely on them. I will not shed a tear. I will laugh. Just as I laugh when I see some idiot on YouTube trying to perform a stunt receive the fate they so desperately begged for.

If some rando conservative tweeted "I'll be grateful if coronavirus kills progressives" and it was up for discussion here, everyone would be reacting with disgust and outrage.

Wishing serious illness/death on millions of people because you don't like their political outlook is disgusting, full stop.

First, I didn't say I wish anything on anyone. If a person is dumb enough to touch a hot stove I won't feel sorry for them. If the Trump supporters want to openly and proudly deny there is even a virus and they do stupid stuff that allows them to become infected I won't feel sorry for them either.

Second, it is way, way past politics in this country now. It's not about if one is a Republican or Democrat. It is now about the very core of our nation and our survival as a people. I'm sorry so many here do not get that. People need to wake the fuck up. The Trump Cult is playing for keeps. We should be too.

We are fighting people who use hatred for other humans as a weapon. Not the political views of those other people. The immutable attributes of those humans that are different than them.

Trump and the GOP use hatred of people who are brown, black, LGBTQ+, non-Christian, etc. to obtain and maintain their power. You may have heard of this thing called the Holocaust. Well, the GOP is looking a hell of a lot like the Nazi party.

I do not wish ill on any person because of their political outlook. I cannot say the same for people, like Trump and his cult, who have gone so far beyond politics to the point of hate for non-WASPs. For the desire to subjugate those peoples. We must do everything we can to defeat them. If nature lends a hand then, so be it.

I also find it amusing that first you said "religious conservatives" and then you changed it to "religious far right," as if the two are identical. I have friends and family who are religious conservatives. If any contract the coronavirus and die, I'll be sure to let you know so you can be grateful.

It seems people around here are not taking the threat seriously enough. Not just this current virus threat but the whole Trump Cult threat.
