Devices found in missiles, Yemen drones link Iran to attacks

Source: ABC

A small instrument inside the drones that targeted the heart of Saudi Arabia's oil industry and those in the arsenal of Yemen's Houthi rebels match components recovered in downed Iranian drones in Afghanistan and Iraq, two reports say.

These gyroscopes have only been found inside drones manufactured by Iran, Conflict Armament Research said in a report released on Wednesday. That follows a recently released report from the United Nations saying its experts saw a similar gyroscope from an Iranian drone obtained by the U.S. military in Afghanistan, as well as inweaponsshipmentsseized in the Arabian Sea bound for Yemen.

The discovery further ties Iran to an attack that briefly halved Saudi Arabia's oil output and saw energy prices spike by a level unseen since the 1991 Gulf War. It also ties Iran to the arming of the rebel Houthis in Yemen's long civil war. Iran denies it had a hand in that assault but has increasingly promoted its influence over the Houthis and launched a ballistic missile attack on American troops in Iraq after a U.S. drone strike killed a top Iranian general in Baghdad last month.

“This gyroscope ... we've seen it now enough times in Iranian-manufactured material to be able to confidently say that the presence of it in a Houthi-produced item suggests that the material was supplied from Iran,” Jonah Leff of Conflict Armament Research told The Associated Press.

this attack through their Houthi proxies. Now there is evidence noted by the UN and other watchdog which corroborates this claim. If you find no interest or value in this info so be it and no skin off my back. Others may find it of interest as these acts and others contribute towards more instability in the Middle East.

On a military strike against critical Saudi infrastructure which had cascading global effects. Maybe the UN wants to bomb Iran again? Even if the media wants military response to Iran, that doesn't change the reality of Iranian actions.

Just because this type of disclosure may sexually arouse John Bolton's mustache doesn't change the very strong and likely possibility that Iran orchestrated this attack on Saudi Arabia.

through their proxy Houthi forces as part of the ongoing Yemen war which Saudi Arabia initiated in 2015.

If you don't believe Iran or Houthis dunnit, then whodunnit?

US, Israeli, Saudi Arabia false-flag? Putin? North Korean sleeper cell?

because Mohammad died without appointing a successor. The Shi'a followed his closest associate and the Sunnis followed a blood relative, a nephew I think. The Yemeni rebels are Shi'a. Saudis are Sunni. Iran is majority Shi'a, so of course they'd be helping their religious brethren.

We have no dog in this fight. Our only actions in this war should be humanitarian, easing the suffering of people who have been displaced and left with nothing.

But there is no ability at the moment to enforce Iran into doing so from what I can tell. The Saudis have demonstrated complete ineptitude in their military efforts against the Houthis. The US could easily let the Saudis reap and sow the consequences of their adventures unaided by the assistance of the US military. Let them fail on their own I say.

How is this news?

Oh right... We need more sensationalism because the WW3 bandwagon isn't picking up enough speed to get going.

This is news as these reports emerging from non US or Saudi sources are alleging Iranian armament to the Houthis or perhaps directly carrying out the attacks. Iran would be in violation of UN Security Council if found to be arming the Houthis.

When the initial allegations were made that you note as old “common knowledge” many skeptics were saying evidence was needed. Here is some more evidence for your or others evaluation.
