More than 2,400 fetuses found at Illinois home to be buried
Source: AP News
CHICAGO (AP) -- In what's sure to be a politically charged ceremony, more than 2,400 fetuses found last year at the suburban Chicago home of one of the Midwest's most prolific abortion doctors will be buried Wednesday in Indiana, a state with some of the nation's toughest anti-abortion laws.
Indiana's top law enforcement official will preside over the mass burial in South Bend. The service comes five months after relatives sorting through Dr. Ulrich Klopfer's belongings after his Sept. 3 death came across 2,246 sets of preserved fetal remains stacked floor to ceiling in his garage. Later, 165 more were found in a trunk of a car at a business where Klopfer kept several vehicles.

OMG! What timing to discover something so horrific.
Okay, is this fake news? The burial will be in South Bend! The town Mayor Pete is Mayor.
Update: I see there has been reporting on this story over the past few months as they find more fetuses in bags. This new reporting is an update on the number they have found. I guess I missed it.

(2,169 posts)to maximize healthcare providers profits. If child is born, dies and is buried, what's so different with burying an unborn dead child just because it is now categorized as medical waste.
Among other things, The burning of solid and regulated medical waste generated by health care creates many problems. Medical waste incinerators emit toxic air pollutants and toxic ash residues that are the major source of dioxins in the environment....

(2,169 posts)Not because as a rule medical waste should be incinerated. Why do businesses minimize costs, to maximize profits. Burning medical waste as the rule is NOT the best solution for all stakeholders. It is the choice made when only looking at the bottom line (profit or loss).

(42,862 posts)We are very fortunate in the U.S. to have an excellent and readily available healthcare system. However, maintaining such a system requires many behind-the-scenes support services that many of us are unaware of or take for granted. Managing medical waste is one such service. Every day, a wide range of potentially infectious or chemical waste is created requiring special disposal; this includes needles from routine vaccinations, tumors removed from patients, trace chemicals remaining in an IV line, or bloodied supplies from treating an accident victim.
Of millions of tons of waste generated from our hospital systems each year, just 6-8% (per Practice Greenhealth) is considered regulated medical waste requiring treatment from companies like Stericycle. While most people think that all regulated medical waste is incinerated, only about 10% is treated via incineration.

(3,268 posts)found in Illinois are transferred to Indiana? On the assumption that, what-they are somehow citizens of Indiana??? If you are going to claim jurisdiction shouldn't DNA testing be performed to support the claim? This entire episode is BS unless they're going to provide evidence of both maternity and paternity for each group of cells...

(51,657 posts)There are no Democratic nominee candidates from Illinois, but there is one who's from South Bend, Indiana, and he's surging in the polls.
They can't overtly call him a sinner because of his homosexuality, so they're going after his pro choice stance. And what better way to showcase the GOP's "baby killer" smear than dump a pile of aborted fetal tissue at his doorstep.
This has Pence and Nunes fingerprints all over it. Sick fucks.

(919 posts)Because of the hurdles women have to climb over to get an abortion, it's easier to go to a doctor off the beaten path. They have enough on their minds without having to face the issues below.
A patient must receive state-directed counseling that includes information designed to discourage the patient from having an abortion, and then wait 18 hours before procedure is provided. Counseling must be provided in person and must take place before the waiting period begins, thereby necessitating two trips to the facility.
Private insurance policies cover abortion only in cases of life endangerment, rape, incest or if the woman's health is severely compromised, unless individuals purchase an optional rider at an additional cost.
Health plans offered in the states health exchange under the Affordable Care Act can only cover abortion in cases of life endangerment, severely compromised physical health, or in cases of rape or incest.
Abortion is covered in insurance policies for public employees only in cases of life endangerment, rape or incest, or severely compromised health, unless an individual purchases an optional rider at an additional cost.
The use of telemedicine to administer medication abortion is prohibited.
The parent of a minor must consent before an abortion is provided.
Public funding is available for abortion only in cases of life endangerment, rape, incest, or when the procedure is necessary to prevent long-lasting damage to the patient's physical health.
A patient must undergo an ultrasound before obtaining an abortion; the provider must offer the patient the option to view the image.
An abortion may be performed at 20 or more weeks postfertilization (22 weeks after the last menstrual period) only in cases of life or severely compromised physical health. This law is based on the assertion, which is inconsistent with scientific evidence and has been rejected by the medical community, that a fetus can feel pain at that point in pregnancy.
The state requires abortion clinics to meet unnecessary and burdensome standards related to their physical plant, equipment and staffing.

It's a reputable site. You really should read up on things. Any woman for abortion rights knows this. So, take your "bullshit" comment and stuff it. This is what we women are forced to deal with. If you have any proof, show it or shut the F up.

(6,831 posts)Dial it down there. I was referring to all the unreasonable and unscientific barriers placed on women that have nothing to do with sound, medically-based health care and personal reproductive decisions.
In the future, please don't be so quick to pounce. That you didn't understand my post points to a rather narrowly-focused and knee-jerk mentality.
And I didn't appreciate your "stuff it" and "shut the F up" remarks. Please save your nastiness for someone who earns it. And if you wish to be welcome here, try to develop a sense of grace.

(1,148 posts)Instead of outright trying to ban all abortions, they call for waiting periods etc. I mean, if they really think it's murder, why would they make ANY exceptions?
A guy who married into my family is insufferable about abortion...then his daughter miscarried and they had no funeral or memorial service for "it"...they didn't even give the "child" a name.
They're such phonies and when you're around them, you can see they just feel threatened by women's freedom. Either that or they just support other GOP agendas and use abortion as an emotional argument to get superstitious people to vote GOP on a single issue. How many fetuses does pollution kill every day? How many babies can't be born because of inadequate health care, toxins, other environmental dangers?
And then they are all pro death penalty and endless war.
Pro-"LIFE", my ass.
