NRCC hires new senior adviser amid 2020 worries

Source: Politico

The National Republican Congressional Committee has tapped GOP strategist Jon Reedy to serve as a senior adviser, a shakeup that comes amid mounting concerns about the party’s prospects of winning back the House majority.

The move — which was confirmed by two senior Republicans — comes just days after NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer sounded a public alarm over the party’s lackluster fundraising. The House GOP campaign arm was outraised by its Democratic counterpart by $40 million in 2019, and Emmer lamented during an appearance before the conservative Ripon Society that “our members need to get their act together and raise more money.”

There are also worries about recruiting. With filing deadlines approaching, the party has yet to lock down top candidates to challenge incumbent House Democrats in several districts President Donald Trump won in 2016.

Reedy previously worked at the House GOP campaign arm for three election cycles. He served as northeastern regional political director during the 2014 and 2016 cycles, overseeing a part of the country rife with tough races for the party.

The Republican Base aren't putting their money behind the Party...they are complacen with letting dak money filling their coffers. They can't match an Act Blue fundraising tool because they don't have a base willing to part with their beer money to support them.

I would dearly love to see details of both Democratic and Republican financials. How many discrete donors? Broken out by total dollars donated.
