GOP senator 'disturbed' by McConnell impeachment remark

Source: AP

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, a Republican from Alaska, said she was disturbed to hear Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell say there would be “total coordination” between the White House and the Senate over the upcoming presidential impeachment trial.

“And in fairness, when I heard that I was disturbed,” Murkowski told KTUU Tuesday before saying there should be distance between the White House and the Senate in how the trial is conducted.

“To me it means that we have to take that step back from being hand in glove with the defense, and so I heard what leader McConnell had said, I happened to think that that has further confused the process.”

In a recent interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, described his planning with the White House.

Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, speaks during a hearing on the impact of wildfires on electric grid reliability on Capitol Hill in Washington. Murkowski says she was “disturbed” to hear Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell say there would be “total coordination” between the White House and the Senate over the presidential impeachment trial. In an interview with KTUU, Murkowski said she remains undecided on how she would vote when the trial takes place. She was critical of the impeachment process in the House, describing it as rushed. But she said there should be distance between the Trump administration and the Senate on how the trial is conducted. (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky, File)

I'm not buying it. Three years into this debacle, you can't be a Republican and have any semblance of morals. You can't. I don't care how "uncomfortable" they feel. She sure as shit wasn't all that "disturbed" when they started thrown immigrant kids in cages. Fuck off, Murkowski!

We are not fooled here at DU.

Murkowski and Collins are not going to change their votes.

All we have to do is vote for a straight democratic ticket and get rid
of Mitch and his cohorts. We, the tax-payers, need to vote for ourselves
and survive. We need renewable energy, we need to protect the
children. We have to think about our wives and daughters. They
will take care of us.

Let us be happy and free.

Surprised she didn't say she was "concerned".

As for being "undecided" about how she'll vote? WE are not undecided about how she'll vote, we KNOW, just like the "concerned" Susan Collins.

And if her vote isn't needed to actually save Trump from being convicted McConnell will probably not object to letting her vote as she sees fit. But notice one thing about her. She can go against her caucus when it's convenient, but she never casts the vote that would cause the GOP caucus to lose on an issue. She's all bluster but when it really comes down to it she doesn't really help.

She's not an imbecile, she has been very much aware of what direction this has all been heading, and she has been helping this Fascist party along the entire time. It's as much her fault as it is the rest of her morally and intellectually bankrupt colleagues.

Replace Mitch , then with Democrat control go on to impeach trump by having a real trial with all the witnesses needed, and refusing a fixed trial like Mitch and trump want. Or they can stand by while they get destroyed with their party in future elections.

And others, not speaking out for the rule of law, Democracy , and against these criminals caught in the act breaking laws to fix an election? How can any of them be ever considered legitimate presidential candidates when they refuse to stand up against corruption running wild from trump and many others in their own party now? You know its really bad for the country when a foreign enemy installs illegally our president , and the president gets caught in the act trying to fix the next election , and now trying to rig His own trial in the Senate using foreign enemies and foreign money to fix the Senate trial with. Was Lavrov's meeting with trump recently in the oval office about promising them funds and voter manipulation for their re-elections if they refused his conviction ? Are they blackmailing Senators, or have they tried to bribe others involved , or threatened them? That's putin and trumps patterns.
