Chris Christie wades into Senate impeachment fight

Source: Politico

Chris Christie is launching a big-money effort aimed at giving Senate Republicans air cover on impeachment — and positioning the former New Jersey governor as a counterweight to liberal billionaire Tom Steyer.

The newly formed issue advocacy organization, Right Direction America, is set to begin a seven-figure TV and digital advertising offensive Monday. The nonprofit group will be focused on a half-dozen states where key 2020 Senate races are taking place: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maine and North Carolina.

Christie is looking to offset a multimillion-dollar offensive funded by Steyer, a Democratic presidential candidate and hedge fund executive, who is targeting Senate Republicans over impeachment. Steyer’s organization, Need to Impeach, has spent around $3.5 million across a handful of states pressuring GOP senators. Need to Impeach has also begun a $350,000 national TV ad campaign going after House and Senate Republicans on impeachment, and a spokesman for Steyer’s group said the funding would likely increase as the Senate trial gets underway.

While conservative groups poured millions into TV advertising in House districts during the impeachment push, Steyer’s offensive in Senate battlegrounds has gone largely unanswered. Christie said he aimed to change that.

all he needs to do is come to Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maine and North Carolina, and "accidentally" sit in the same chair the Dem candidate is already occupying......LOL

He is a perfect TrumpHumper. A mayor doesn't do what you want, so you exact revenge. Sound Familiar??????
I'm sure Ms. Kelly is grinding her teeth over his continuing progress on the national republican scene......

At my age, my mind is beginning to go, but didn't I read somewhere that he was being paid 13 million for something he was doing for the Repubs?????????

But she sure got a whole big bunch of nights, spent in a cell, to think about ever backing her superior, ever again.....

she should have been aware enough to have thought about Colin Powell. In away, the Repubs depended on him to sway the crowd to getting behind the IRAQ war, and ten seconds later he was kicked aside......and he, of all people should have realized what would happen after he helped with the cover up of the Mai Lai ? massacre.....

Once you have served your purpose, in reality, the Repubs don't throw you under the bus, they feed you to the dogs.........It's like being a kamikaze pilot............

The new group, named the Lincoln Project, was announced Tuesday in a New York Times op-ed penned by four so-called "Never Trumpers": attorney George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway; the well-known Republican political operatives Steve Schmidt and John Weaver, who worked for former Presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush, respectively; and Rick Wilson, a Republican media consultant.

According to the Lincoln Project's website, its advisers also include three other current and former GOP strategists.

"Over these next 11 months, our efforts will be dedicated to defeating President Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box and to elect those patriots who will hold the line," the group wrote in the opinion piece.

the cowards in office right now, who do not have the courage to defy tRump? They will back the lilly-livered gop members who "go along to get along"? Great!! The gop is filled with COWARDS, who have no core principles, no true patriotism. Lemmings, all of them. If they were true patriots, they would switch to the democratic party, unless the democratic party has ideals that are too out of their league?

The "Lincoln Project" is to get rid of all of them... trump and those who back him. They are promoting Democrats in 2020 because there's no chance any Republican with principles will be on the ballot.

They are not promoting liberal ideas, but they are promoting the idea that trump and trumpism must be stopped. That's enough for me at the moment.

He wants to ride a surf board high up on the second wave ,that is how he looks at it.
