Trump calls impeachment vote 'embarrassment' to nation

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump declared Friday's House committee vote to impeach him ”an embarrassment to our country" and refused to back away from the charge that first ensnared him in the scandal. Almost simultaneous to the vote, Rudy Giuliani, the president's personal lawyer, turned up at the White House to discuss Ukraine.

With a vote by the full House expected next week, Trump declared in the Oval Office that the Democrats had "made absolute fools of themselves" by moving ahead with impeachment. Trump stands poised to be the third president impeached, though it is all but certain he will not be removed from office by the Republican-controlled Senate.

”You’re trivializing impeachment, when you use it for absolutely nothing, other than trying for political gain," Trump said as he sat alongside the president of Paraguay. ”It’s a sad thing for the country but a good thing for me politically."

Trump's latest pushback on impeachment came a short time after Giuliani turned up at the White House. Giuliani, who has been deeply involved in the Ukraine dealings at the heart of the impeachment inquiry, was expected to meet with Trump, who requested a briefing from the former New York City mayor on his recent trip to Kyiv.

that is exactly my thinking - all he can do is project - that's all his party can do.

Whatever they accuse Democrats of, you can bet it is what they are guilty of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hurt him politically. No fence-leaners this time around. I do think many wingers will stay home this coming November, split their votes or ony vote for local//state candidates. Independents, in droves, will vote for anyoen but Trump. I also see that many women (and hear) from husband-voting women) they will not stand still this election season and will vote against the Orangeanus.

Further, two of my tax guys (my guy in IL and my gal's Dad in ND) both say the famrers who are still alive (many suicides, sad) and are not getting any subsidies are hopiing mad at Trumplestilskins. All say only the biggest coporate farms are getting all the cash while the little guys get drips and drabs, not enough cash to forstall bankruptcy. I have sorry to say little empathy for these Trumpy voters; let this be a lesson to them in voting for a pussy-grabbin', NYC tax cheat!
