Two people are in serious condition after shots rang out during a high school football game in New Jersey Friday night, sending players and spectators running for cover.
The shooting, at Pleasantville High School near Atlantic City, continues a nationwide trend of shootings at or around high school football games that stretches back to at least August.
Friday's shooting came in the third quarter of a game between Camden High and Pleasantville, where witnesses said shots were fired in the spectator stands.
At least a half a dozen shots were fired, according to witnesses who spoke to Philadelphia

Ho Hum....... just another day in 'merica..... we'll quit noticing these sort of things before long and accept them as 'normal'. Just a minor side effect of a gross misinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment. The gun lobby will be pleased.

(129,135 posts)since we are South Jersey's media market. The 2 high schools are on opposite sides of the state from each other as a note. I had debated posting about it but decided not to.
And unfortunately yes - "just another day in the neighborhood".
The local reports mention an 8-year old victim who had to be airlifted to Children's Hospital here.

Five men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of three people Friday night at a playoff football game between Camden and Pleasantville High Schools, with one charged with attempted murder, prosecutors said.
Alvin Wyatt, 31, of Atlantic City is charged with three counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office. Four other men, ages 26 to 28, who were at the game in Pleasantville and fled from police after the shootings, authorities say, have been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to posses a weapon.
The victims include a 10-year-old boy, who is in critical condition at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, according to a statement issued Saturday by Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. Witnesses have said he was shot in the neck. A 27-year-old man is in stable condition and expected to undergo surgery, according to Tyners statement, which did not say where he is hospitalized. A 15-year-old male was treated for a graze wound, the statement said.
I want to thank the Pleasantville Police Department and the scores of off duty emergency personnel that assisted the victims and helped law enforcement promptly identify and locate those responsible for causing mayhem at the Pleasantville High School football game," Tyner said. Unlike some of the shootings that have occurred on school premises throughout the country, this incident had nothing to do with the students of Pleasantville High School or Camden High School.

The child victim originally reported last night as being "8 years old" was apparently "10 years old" but is still in critical condition.

(6,476 posts)isn't this about the 3rd shooting at a football game? THE SOLUTION! Buy more metal detectors rather than dealing with the proliferation of guns. Hate to even mention it but with so many people cramped in a small area and poor ability to flea there is a potential for a future massacre

(6,641 posts)court, right before he is sent off to jail for a looooooong time. This was attempted murder times 1000, and he should be spanked and told that he acted like a little child with a gun. Not an adult at all. He should be sequestered in prison and not allowed to talk to anyone.

Michael Mack, 27; Tyrell Dorn, 28; Shahid Dixon, 27; and Vance Golden, 26, were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. Dixon is also charged with eluding.
One of the victims is also being charged with a crime. Ibn Abdullah, 27, is being charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, a first-degree crime, because he has a prior conviction for first-degree robbery, authorities said. Hes also being charged with certain persons not permitted to possess a handgun. Abdullah is in stable condition and will be undergoing surgery.
Four of the shooting suspects fled to Atlantic City in a car, with one suspect throwing a gun out of the vehicle, according to authorities. Patrol officers stopped the vehicle after seeing it traveling without headlights and failing to yield, said Hartman.

(7,636 posts)The crazy part is all his Nazi friends are actually agreeing with him on his CT's whatever they are. I thought this guy was halfway intelligent too and have known and done bizz with him for years, but, I guess this only goes to show they often live among us undetected...
I believe the idea behind this one is that the Dems did this to call attention away from what he claims are the Dem's Impeachment plan failing right before everyone's eyes. Either that or to shame the Pugs into passing a minimal gun safety legislation they voted against.
What do you even say to someone or something like that? I mean besides "Goodbye" and yikes, OMFG I was just going to write.., "pull the trigger" on unfriend him I swear.
