Watchdog: Rates at Trump hotel nearly three times higher for Republican retreat
Source: The Hill
Rates for rooms at President Trumps hotel in Washington, D.C., are nearly three times higher than usual on the night of a Republican Senate retreat that will be hosted at the property, according to a report published by watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington on Monday.
The hotel's premier and deluxe rooms, the least expensive ones offered, cost $1,345 and $1,395, respectively, for the night of Nov. 7, the group reported.
By contrast, rooms typically average $455 a night, according to the report, which cites Google searches conducted Oct. 23, 25 and 28.
The Hill found similar results during a search on the hotel's website Monday, with the "premier" room priced at $1,345 for the night of the GOP event.

(292 posts)If this is a retreat for Senators, why wouldn't they just go home to where they live in Washington like any other night?

(9,426 posts)Screw over the entire group. They should do what HE does, let the bills slide. Why pay those prices? HE leaves every city holding the bill after his rallies. I am sure Vlad can afford to pay their expenses. Will Goetz be there? Gowdy? Graham? Gym Jordan, in shirtsleeves? These FOOLS are being taken for a ride, and quietly protect their bloated orange postule.

(11,885 posts)From trump to get money into his pockets , just like he has been shaking people down for campaign donations that he funnels into his pockets, and very likely contractors have to do to get their government contracts now. Pay up or else, and same way selling policy to foreign countries like Turkey, and the Prince. He's desperate for money now being in debt and being shaken down by putin.
