Schiff, House Intel Chairman, Got Early Account of Whistle-Blower's Accusations
Source: New York Times
WASHINGTON The Democratic head of the House Intelligence Committee, Representative Adam B. Schiff of California, learned about the outlines of a C.I.A. officers concerns that President Trump had abused his power days before the officer filed a whistle-blower complaint, according to a spokesman and current and former American officials.
The early account by the future whistle-blower shows how determined he was to make known his allegations that Mr. Trump asked Ukraines government to interfere on his behalf in the 2020 election. It also explains how Mr. Schiff knew to press for the complaint when the Trump administration initially blocked lawmakers from seeing it.
Before going to Congress, the C.I.A. officer had a colleague convey his accusations to the agencys top lawyer. Concerned about how that avenue for airing his allegations was unfolding, the officer then approached a House Intelligence Committee aide, alerting him to the accusation against Mr. Trump. In both cases, the original accusation was vague.
The House staff member, following the committees procedures, suggested the officer find a lawyer to advise him and file a whistle-blower complaint. The aide shared some of what the officer conveyed to Mr. Schiff. The aide did not share the whistle-blowers identity with Mr. Schiff or anyone else, an official said. Like other whistle-blowers have done before and since under Republican and Democratic-controlled committees, the whistle-blower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community, said Patrick Boland, a spokesman for Mr. Schiff.

(70,520 posts)Watch him find a way to get ALL OF THE MUELLER report out. Something we have not seen and I
think that is why Trump is going all over the world to try to discredit it.
And yes, I think Adam knew the cameras were on him. And yes, Adam has a little ham in him too.

I'm starting to understand that dump only has two voices to listen to. His own. And his own reflection in a convoluted mirror. He knows what he wants to do and he sees everyone else wanting to act like him, but distorted.
Maybe I'll get my next PhD in The Psychology of the Distorted/Mirrored Mind. (kudos to Julian Jaynes.)

They knew it was bigger than 1 phone call.

(32,645 posts)If Chump wants to point a finger at Schiff, well fine he has 4 more fingers pointing back to himself. They withheld this information illegally from Congress at least a month before Schiff finally found out about it from an independent source.
If it was leaked to Schiff, well so what? I'm happy he got the leak, because he was supposed to receive the report anyway. The REAL leak happened when either Maguire or Barr showed the WB report to Chump and they all sat on it.

(129,127 posts)it was a concerned employee who went to Congress FIRST to describe what was going on and ask how to handle it given the nature of the alleged wrong-doing (i.e., info mis-classified and moved to a "top secret" system)... and who was advised to use the Whistle-blower process to formally submit a complaint.
