First on CNN: White House says lawyers directed moving Ukraine transcript to highly secure system
Source: CNN
The White House is acknowledging for the first time that officials did direct the Ukraine call transcript be filed in a separate classified system.
In a statement provided to CNN, a senior White House official says it was under the direction of National Security Council attorneys: "NSC lawyers directed that the classified document be handled appropriately."
The admission lends further credibility to the whistleblower complaint description of how the transcript with the Ukrainian president, among others, were kept out of wider circulation by using a system for highly sensitive documents.
But the statement does not explain whether anyone else in the White House was part of the decision to put the the Ukraine transcript in the more restrictive system.

(5,995 posts)Noted that other items, likely similar in nature, had been placed on the same system.
Someone in the room or with access to tapes/transcripts must have recognized the risk and sought an opinion. Likely told that if it saw the light of day, they were all going to jail.
Maybe now they are taking them to the lawyers to review and letting them make the call on which ones pose a risk and must be hidden.

(14,825 posts)To classify or declassify at will, but his lawyers don't. It would have had to come from a direct order since no reasonable person would consider it ts/sci.. But in any case, courts can order the release.
Of course, the cabal could simply destroy it. Potus can pardon them for that.
And so the cycle of depravity continues until nature or the senate makes a move. The cowards may eventually calculate they have to leave the cabal to survive politically, but as in all crime families, death is usually your only retirement plan.

Seems to me there may be an attorney or two thinking about how to save their license to practice and maybe stay out of jail.
