Fox News poll shows Trump losing to Biden, Warren, Sanders and Harris
Source: The Hill
A Fox News poll released Thursday showed President Trump losing head-to-head matchups against four of the top Democratic primary contenders following the second round of debates last month.
The poll found Trump with the support of only 39 percent of registered voters against Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), while registering just 38 percent support from voters in a matchup against former Vice President Joe Biden.
Warren and Harris registered support among 46 and 45 percent of voters in matchups against the president, respectively, while Sanders was supported by 48 percent of voters in a head-to-head contest with Trump. Biden was supported by the most voters, 50 percent, in a one-on-one race against the president.
In the Democratic primary, Warren saw the largest gain in support, an 8 percent jump, from last month's poll to take second place behind Biden with the support of 20 percent of Democratic primary voters. Sanders dropped to third, now at 10 percent in the poll and the only other candidate besides Warren and Biden scoring double digit support among voters.

The Fox News poll was taken between Aug. 11-13 and contacted 1,013 registered voters on landlines and cellphones. The margin of error is 3 percent for all registered voters, and 4.5 percent for Democratic primary voters.

(11,885 posts)Because that's who is behind telling and controlling trumps policies now. When will 5-10 real republicans switch on the Senate to become Democrats taking McConnell's, and trump, and putins power from them before they destroy this country as we know it?

(43,257 posts)Trump burned bridges with the Republican field. Democrats are different. All of our candidates who don't become the nominee should and likely will make appearances for Democrats. There is progressive, center, liberal, Congressional star power there.

(32,718 posts)As I recall in 1972 Nixon was running for re-election against a large contingency of Democratic contenders. The polls in late 71 and early 72 showed Nixon would lose to at least 3 or 4 major Democratic leaders. (Hubert Humphrey, Scoop Jackson, Ted Kennedy, 1 or 2 others) Nixon was really hated by all the Baby Boomers, because he didn't end the Vietnam War, and he was loved by everybody older who thought they were being patriotic good Americans (or whatever.) There was a lot of divisiveness, protests all over the country against the war and against Nixon, etc.
By June 1972 every one of the major Democratic contenders had dropped out of the race. There was nobody to carry the torch and knock Nixon off his pedestal. The reason - dirty tricks and nasty political shit done to eliminate the Dem contenders one by one. I wouldn't be surprised if Roger Stone hadn't been involved as a very young man (probably college age or early 20's.) Certainly the type of crap that Roger Stone has been famous for all these years, that's what Nixon had people do. The Watergate break-in wasn't until mid-June 1972. They got caught and thrown in jail, but Nixon was able to gloss over it and bury the story for several months.
My point is, the Repukes are always looking for a way to cheat. They will cheat because they know they have to.
Don't anybody get comfortable, there's still a long way to go.

(7,153 posts)Still way too early to call.
Remember when HRC was so confident she could get 350 electoral votes? And didn't even bother to provide signs in at least one purple state?
RCP lists the poll results:
General Election: Trump vs. Biden FOX News Biden 50, Trump 38 Biden +12
General Election: Trump vs. Warren FOX News Warren 46, Trump 39 Warren +7
General Election: Trump vs. Sanders FOX News Sanders 48, Trump 39 Sanders +9
General Election: Trump vs. Harris FOX News Harris 45, Trump 39 Harris +6
By my math, Biden has a lead, Sanders a chance, and Warren and Harris are in tossup territory.
