House to vote today on impeachment resolution against Trump

The House will vote on Wednesday on a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump, marking the first time the Democrat-controlled chamber has weighed in on the divisive issue.

It's unclear whether the House will vote to send the resolution to committee, to table it — effectively killing the measure — or vote to proceed forward with it.

In addition, the House will vote Wednesday to hold U.S. Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in criminal contempt of Congress for withholding information about the administration's failed bid to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

On impeachment, Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, forced the vote by reading the articles of impeachment on Tuesday night; he told reporters a vote will happen Wednesday afternoon. A Democratic leadership aide confirmed to NBC News the vote would occur.

3. It will quickly be voted down as the previous two from Rep Green because it isn't well written and

sufficiently comprehensive. So, even those who favor impeachment will undoubtedly realize that this is not the vehicle. Not to mention the need to conduct official impeachment INQUIRIES first, rather than skip to a vote on articles.

My prediction...

That said, I can't help but appreciate Rep. Green for continually beating the drum.

12. Green's resolution got 95 votes

That's a bit over 40% of the Dem caucus. Every time he brings it to the floor, it gets more votes.

I'll go ahead and predict after the Cohen/SDNY court filings are released tomorrow and Mueller testifies, that 40% will be a majority by the end of next week.

Oh, and I guess Amash wasn't serious about his calls for impeachment since he voted to kill the resolution.
