Man threatens to 'kill every gay person I can' at St. Louis PrideFest, report says
Source: CNN
Missouri man has been arrested after threatening to "kill every gay person I can" at PrideFest in St. Louis, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which cited court documents.
Edward Terry of Overland, Missouri, was charged on Tuesday with making a terrorist threat after he sent an email to one of PrideSTL's parade planners saying he would "come to pride fest with my guns to kill every gay person I can before I kill myself," according to the paper.
The manager of PrideSTL contacted the FBI, and authorities tracked the email back to Terry through his cellphone, according to the Post-Dispatch. Terry told police he created the account using the name of a woman he once lived with, the paper reported.
CNN has reached out to police and the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney to independently confirm.

The only people you ever hear criticizing or complaining about LGBTQ or families kicking out their gay children are the Evangelical fundy nut jobs. They learn the hatred at church and the Bible Belt states--which includes Missouri--are filled with these churches.

(10,185 posts)I live in rural TN. I use to attend a local church. Not that I believed the fairy-tales about a virgin and a god being sacrificed. I just liked getting together with people. But when the RepubliCON talking points began to be preached from the pulpit, I complained. I complained over and over again. I got into argument with others and the preacher. Then after about the 30th time explaining to the preacher why his sermon was wrong and then getting into an argument with the old man behind me over it. I just quit going.
Yeah, they preach hate and bigotry and intolerance and cruelty from the pulpit and they are proud of it. They were relieved that I stop going. I think I was like their dirty conscious. They didn't want to hear it.

ALL SCRIPTURE BAPTIST CHURCH
Link: https://allscripturebaptist.com/
Right on their home page in plain view:
We believe that sodomy (homosexuality) is a sin that is against nature. A person will only burn in their lust toward the same gender if they have been given over to a reprobate or rejected mind. God said homosexuality should be punished with the death penalty, as set forth in Leviticus 20:13. No homosexual will be allowed to attend or join All Scripture Baptist Church.
Taking that as a warped moral justification, combine it with a right-wing rage web site or blog and guys like this fellow are the result. Not saying any particular church is to blame, but most likely these doctrines get passed around on the internet and become amplified along with a huge dose of hate into what we see in the CNN article.
All the churches, as expected, will completely deny any responsibility.

(6,556 posts)The Old Testament provides history up until Jesus comes on the scene. I attend a New Testament based church that teaches post-Christ ideology. Please do not include all Christian churches in with evangelicals and their teachings. Thank you.

(14,492 posts)I was raised in the old-fashioned Baptist church in the 50s/60s and there was never any such doctrine mentioned then, although we didn't even know what "gay" meant. I think almost all persons would have been welcomed in that church. However, everything was segregated back then (schools, churches, etc.). My how times have changed.
Besides, in today's world, Jewish theological authorities have basically conceited that the Old Testament is mostly myth - based on their own archaeological research.

Also some comes from that they might have "gay feelings" too and this is
