Washington (CNN)The Supreme Court declined on Monday to take up a case brought by the Little Sisters of the Poor, a Roman Catholic religious order for women, challenging lower court opinions that blocked the Trump administration's effort to weaken the Affordable Care Act's contraceptive coverage mandate.

Several cases are still percolating in the lower courts below and it is likely the issue will find its way back to the Supreme Court.
This story is breaking and will be updated.

The ACA says religious organizations don't have to offer abortion coverage in their healthcare as long as they fill out a simple exemption form.

The religious order objects, saying that they will be complicit in abortion if they even fill out the exemption form. The Trump administration has been on their side, but so far the courts have ruled against them.
