Flynn told investigators Russia asked for Trump-Putin video call day after inauguration
Source: The Hill
Prosecutors have released a less-redacted version of an FBI memo describing the interview agents had with President Trumps national security adviser Michael Flynn in January 2017.
The document shows that Flynn told investigators that Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak asked him during a December 28, 2016, phone call to set up a VTC, an apparent reference to a video teleconference, between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Flynn told investigators that Kislyak requested that the video conference occur on January 21, the day after Trump was inaugurated as president, according to the memo.
Flynn has since pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators about his contacts with Kislyak, particularly by denying that the two discussed sanctions on Moscow imposed by the Obama administration in response to Russian interference in the election. Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI as part of a deal to cooperate with special counsel Robert Muellers investigation in December 2017.

Can you blame him for thinking he is above the law?

(15,751 posts)Seems that knowledgeable DU types are far more aware of trump criminal type activities than averagey voters - who are desperately needed to make good things actually happen.
Is this criminal though? A leader of one of the most powerful countries in the world wants to talk to the new leader of the most powerful country in the world after his inauguration. I mean this seems like something that would happen regularly.
I only say this because thats what I see the Repukes saying.

(15,751 posts)Cong ommitees were Dem controlled. 'Cons were conflicted, wanting to defend Nixon, but yet not wanting to publicize Nixon corruption problems either - so open partisan warfare was limited. Watergate was not much of a big, national issue until Nixon's imminent resignation.
Also the big rw hate issues of anti gay and abortion had not yet mobilized the rw at the base level. The reliable rw race hate didn't calculate much into Watergate corruption case. Significant also, was the relative upward prosperity/mobility of the 40's, 50's, 60's, and earlier 70's - so there where was not that underlying groundswell of national [and worldwide] discontent, so present today.
Currently, a lot of 'anti' is automatically reflexive. [As I heard from a trumper yesterday, 'trump is corrupt, but they all are. They just publcize his corruption a lot more].
