Twitter Has Started Researching Whether White Supremacists Belong on Twitter

Source: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/ywy5nx/twitter-

Twitter is conducting in-house research to better understand how white nationalists and supremacists use the platform. The company is trying to decide, in part, whether white supremacists should be banned from the site or should be allowed to stay on the platform so their views can be debated by others, a Twitter executive told Motherboard.

Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's head of trust and safety, legal and public policy, said Twitter believes "counter-speech and conversation are a force for good, and they can act as a basis for de-radicalization, and we've seen that happen on other platforms, anecdotally."

"So one of the things we're working with academics on is some research here to confirm that this is the case," she added.

Gadde, who, along with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, met with President Trump to discuss the "health of the public conversation" on Twitter last month, said Twitter is working with external researchers on the work, but declined to name them, and added that the researchers are under non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).

Twitter is a company, offering a service, services that can be refused if it is not aligned with company policy. They just don't want to lose customers. No balls. Let the right create their own tweet machine so that they can indoctrinate their own members. Twitter should realize that they've grown so big, losing this group is not a loss. No balls.

How much research does it take to know that white supremists are bad, evil and dangerous to people of color and different religions.

The CEO just wants to be accepted in the old rich boys club that’s why they are stalling on outright banning all hate speech on Twitter.

Those people and their beliefs will always be "out there." Their beliefs should be kept underground where they belong. There is nothing to debate about hate speech.

Which means they'd have to ban Public Enemy #1, which of course we know will never happen so this is all BS.

You cannot debate this kind of evil because white supremacists are impervious to reason; they should be treated like trolls and kicked off the site. You cannot argue or reason with fascism; it must be soundly defeated at any price.

Not IF the anecdotal based premise is true but seeking to confirm that their anecdotal based premise is true.

Alrighty then.

Snort.
