Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that she spoke with the Sergeant at Arms of the House to ensure the safety of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) after President Trump recently tweeted a video targeting the congresswoman.

“Following the president’s tweet, I spoke with the Sergeant-at-Arms to ensure that Capitol Police are conducting a security assessment to safeguard Congresswoman Omar, her family and her staff. They will continue to monitor and address the threats she faces," Pelosi said in a statement.

Pelosi also called on Trump to take down the video, which she called "disrespectful and dangerous."

“The President’s words weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates real danger. President Trump must take down his disrespectful and dangerous video," Pelosi said.

to condemn this mean-spirited, dangerous and unheard of lie about Rep. Omar. Donald Trump is not only the worst person to ever hold the office of the presidency, he is a pathetic excuse for a human being, and an act like this should never be allowed to go unchallenged. If he knows he can get away with this without consequence, who knows what lengths he'll go to next.

15. Trump would be a political idiot not to take it down now.

Imagine – heaven forbid – that something drastic soon happens to Omar. Trump would then delete the post immediately, but that in itself would be an implied admission that he prompted the attack. Only a true political hack would walk into that trap, and for no gain at all.

It's clearly an excerpt of a more complete thought, and it should be demanded that he post the entire quote if he thinks it's so damning.
