Vice President Mike Pence is wrapping up his survey of flood damage in Nebraska.
After meeting with first responders from Waterloo and flood-affected families staying at Elkhorn Middle School, the vice president prepared to leave on Air Force Two Tuesday evening at about 7 p.m.
Pence, joined on the tour by Gov. Pete Ricketts, Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse and Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, said the federal government will offer relief, recognizing an emergency declaration prepared by Gov. Pete Ricketts.
Were going to stand with you and be with you until these communities come all the way back, Pence said.

(4,341 posts)I think the writing is on the wall, they are preparing for the orange buffoon to be impeached/indicted and for Pence to take over...
Not good...I really think that Pence taking on the presidency would be a bad thing, after the calamity that the orange buffoon is, Pence will look normal, and that is not good because we all know is not normal.

(26,291 posts)not to run again or he will use the same excuse and resign followed of course by Pence issuing a pardon probably with the hope of both protecting Trump and himself.

(5,801 posts)no worries--puke-voting red staters gonna get primo treatment.
As an aside, once things get fixed "all the way back" how long until the next catastrophic climate change-induced flood wipes out the repairs?

(1,606 posts)You nailed it. The conservative conception of government's role is that it stops where "red" voters end and "blue" voters begin.
Geopolitically speaking, the effects, financial and otherwise, of climate change are inherently disproportionate and more catastrophic and enduring for "blue" states under the intentionally punitive policies inherent in conservative ideology.

Nebraska's been hit harder by TangerAnus' stupid trade war, so there's a need to step up their bribe...er...I mean "aid".

(1,606 posts)I'm all for most government relief efforts. But hypocrites whose fundamental ideology is expressed in proclamations such as that on this sign have no integrity when offering government assistance. And the people that vote for faux libertarian/"patriot" candidates who express disdain for "big gubmint" have ceded any moral claim to assistance, so they shouldn't have their hand out.
(Hey, you midwest crop farmers sucking up $13 billion in tariff relief subsidies, are ya listenin'?)
By the way, Puerto Rico is still in shambles.
