Trump: McConnell should keep Senate in session until nominees are approved

Source: The Hill

BY BRETT SAMUELS - 02/17/19 08:18 AM EST

President Trump on Sunday called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to keep senators in Washington, D.C. until a backlog of executive nominees receive confirmation votes.

Trump blamed Democrats for "slow walking hundreds of highly qualified people wanting to come into government."

McConnell's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Senate will not be in session this week.

Trump has previously lashed out at Democrats over the Senate's inability to quickly confirm his nominees, though senators from the party have noted that ambassador positions require a simple majority, and therefore don't need their votes for confirmation. Democrats have also pointed out that Trump failed to put forward nominees for a number of ambassadorships and other positions until well into his presidency.

realize that the gop shirked working much of the 8 years President Obama was in the WH. The only work they did was obstruction. Remember their schedule, working about 3 days a week, 3 weeks a month? In fact, they worked about as hard as he has during his time in office. Since many of them are far beyond retirement age, working only part time is too much for most of them. They are just there to line their pockets from rich donors, anyway. Who cares if the work of the people gets done?

Since Monday is a federal holiday, they will naturally be off the rest of next week (2/18/19 - 2/22/19)!

There should be a detrumpification program along the lines of the Allied effort to nullify Nazism after WWII.

his having poisoned our society by way of appointments must not stand.

Roll them back, or roll them out. They're all irretrievably tainted, at the very least.

And what will he be told to do next for them. This also will make him be put under more personal investigating acting like he has . He could be in very serious legal jeopardy now.
