(27,817 posts)I absolutely do not understand the stubborn determination to go forward with a referendum that would probably be resoundingly reversed with another vote.
This is a tyranny of the minority, and we've seen where that gets us in the United States.

(26,306 posts)to accept the plan or reject it and stay in the EU but also put the accept threshold at a minimum of 60% that way it will be a clear majority that want to leave the EU.

(27,817 posts)I just think that this vote does not reflect the view of most people in Great Britain (and it really does not reflect the wishes of people in Scotland).
Why are they so tied to doing what people don't want?

(62,531 posts)they know know that the sentiment in Britain is overwhelming against brexit.
come the end of march, Britain leaves the EU without a plan and face plants economically.
Scotland holds a referendum and leaves GB. Northern Ireland sides with Scotland and leaves GB also after a their own referendum. Ireland steps in and says to NI, "hey, we're still part of the EU, just join us" and the north does.
Britain is caught completely flat footed and suffers a massive economic crash.
out goes may, out goes the tory majority, incomes a labor coalition to renegotiate entrance into the EU.
the torys suffer such a massive defeat, that they will never see any sort of real power for years, if ever again.
