Lyndon LaRouche Jr., conspiracy theorist and presidential candidate, dies at 96

Source: Washington Post

Often described as an extremist crank and fringe figure, Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr. cut a shadowy and alarming path through American politics for a half-century. He built a political organization often likened to a cult and ran for president eight times, once while in prison for mail fraud. In recent decades, he operated from a heavily guarded compound near Leesburg, Va.

Mr. LaRouche, who built a worldwide following based on conspiracy theories, economic doom, anti-Semitism, homophobia and racism, died Feb. 12. He was 96. His political organization, LaRouche PAC, confirmed the death but did not say where or how he died.

Mr. LaRouche drew headlines for his more outrageous claims — that England’s Queen Elizabeth II was a drug trafficker and that the International Monetary Fund created and spread the AIDS virus. He also said the CIA, the KGB and British intelligence officials were plotting to assassinate him, according to a 1985 Washington Post profile that included interviews with followers.

LaRouchians, as the group was known, never numbered more than 3,000, according to some estimates, but were a vocal, sometimes disturbing presence on the American political landscape. They heckled, harassed and occasionally threatened opponents. His followers “made extraordinary inroads into American politics, surpassing the achievements of any other extremist movement in recent American history,” New York-based Dennis King wrote in his 1989 book “Lyndon LaRouche and the New American Fascism.”

Maybe a showy and amusing path. I don't think anyone took him series.

Anyway, rest in something, or rot in something, Lyndon.

About eight years ago a couple LaRouche-ite cult followers were outside a local drugstore near me, with a rather extreme racist anti- Obama sign, (the witch doctor photo) collecting money.

I’m in my 50’s, and these two were mid 30’s. They had a 18 year old spellbound in their speech when I walk up.

I said “oh, did they let LaRouche out of prison?” And started to razz them about LaRouche’s criminal convictions and prison sentences for finance violations, mail fraud, etc in the 1990’s.

The poor 18 year old kid had no idea. O guess they don’t teach kids history at all these days when it comes to historically evil criminal candidates of the past. The poor kid wanted to erase his name from the petition he just signed after I told him about LaRouche’s past run ins with the law, cult following, etc. the two LaRouchettes were livid I was telling the kid LaRouche’s history. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

Like I say- I’m glad to know he won’t by preying on children any more.

I just stumbled in to this trying to see if LaRouche had died. This is from a month ago. Enjoy.

Here’s an Insane Story About Roger Stone, Lyndon LaRouche, Vladimir Putin, and the Queen of England

The international cult leader has long-standing ties to Russia—and Robert Mueller.

Eleven days after President Donald Trump’s election, Roger Stone, a longtime self-proclaimed GOP dirty trickster and Trump adviser, invited an unusual guest on his short-lived radio show, Stone Cold Truth, and began the interview with a question about former President Bill Clinton. "Well, I think the question of Bill Clinton is sometimes confused. Bill was framed,” Lyndon LaRouche replied. “And he was framed by the Queen of England.”

It was typical fare from LaRouche, the 96-year-old leader of a fascist political cult group that has long pitched a variety of dark conspiracy theories, including his pet notion that a Zionist British aristocratic oligarchy secretly orchestrates world events. The queen has long been a favored villain of LaRouche, who has claimed she presides over the international narcotics trade. He has also accused Henry Kissinger of being a Soviet double agent, and has led a campaign for opera to be sung at a lower pitch. While LaRouche’s followers and their wild ideas have been a sideshow for five decades—as they have distributed leaflets and crashed political events—he earned surprising prominence in the 1970s and 1980s, before a 1988 federal conviction for mail fraud sent him to prison for five years.

Stone’s recent association with LaRouche is consistent with his decades-long evolution from a mainstream GOP operative to an advocate and ally of the conspiratorial and political fringe. Stone is reportedly being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is examining his possible interactions during the 2016 campaign with WikiLeaks ahead of its releases of emails stolen by Russian government hackers. (Mueller himself is no stranger to LaRouche; he was a key player in the 1980s investigation that sent LaRouche to jail.) Despite all the scrutiny over Stone’s role in the 2016 campaign, his alignment with a political group that the Heritage Foundation once described as a “strange asset for the KGB’s disinformation effort” remains a little-examined aspect of his recent activities.

Also under-examined has been a tantalizing clue about possible ties between LaRouche’s organization and Moscow. Buried in Christopher Steele’s dossier on Trump’s possible links to Russia was an August 2016 report with this allegation: A “Kremlin official involved in US relations” had claimed that Russia facilitated a LaRouche delegation’s trip to Moscow, offering members of LaRouche’s group assistance and enlisting them in an effort to disseminate “compromising information” as part of the Kremlin’s 2016 influence campaign. A lawyer with ties to both Stone and LaRouche’s network has claimed that he introduced Stone to a key LaRouche aide in early 2016, as Trump began to secure the Republican nomination.

Just like Stein, they were sowing discord from every angle that they could find.

Some other parts of interest -

Stone seemed eager to embrace LaRouche and win over the crowd, recounting how he had “evolved” to embrace the “extraordinary and prophetic thinking” of LaRouche.

And this sounds like the strategy that Bannon has deployed -

Despite such troubling revelations, LaRouche’s followers expanded his network across the globe, cultivating relationships to reach influential figures. Those efforts landed some startling successes. LaRouche met with Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi in 1981 and Mexican president Jose Lopez Portillo in 1982. His group ran scores of candidates for public office in Europe and Australia. In the United States, something of a high watermark came in 1986 when LaRouche followers won Illinois Democratic primaries for secretary of state and lieutenant governor. LaRouche himself undertook eight no-hope presidential runs between 1976 and 2004.

Then based on all this, I decided to go search for a Dana Rohrabacher (former CA-48) link and whaddaya know?

And more hunting uncovered this from 2014 by then AIM (the conservative "Accuracy In Media" ) head Cliff Kincaid regarding Russia's influence (and even notes how Ron Paul was sucked in) - https://www.traditioninaction.org/HotTopics/i99ht_068_RusInf.html AND that article even linked to their earlier article about how Russia was actually targeting conservatives for the propaganda. The irony being the first article was basically to point fingers at Obama and warn their own conservatives.... but here we are 5 years later and lookie what happened!

And here is the kicker - Kincaid is no longer at AIM (despite what Wikipedia says). He's gone and in charge of a new conspiracy site - "America Survival" or whatever. He's still ranting against "the left" (they love them some Soros crap) while his own conservatives are engulfed in Russia.
