Investigation finds no evidence of 'racist or offensive statements' by Covington Catholic students

Source: Washingto Post

An investigation released Wednesday into an encounter between Covington Catholic High School students and Native American activists at the Lincoln Memorial last month largely supports the students’ accounts of the incident, which prompted immediate and widespread condemnation of the boys after a video of the encounter went viral.

A short video clip showed Native American Nathan Phillips, playing a traditional drum and in an apparent standoff with a smiling student, Nick Sandmann, who was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. The Diocese of Covington and Covington Catholic High School, which arranged the trip, were among those who initially condemned the boys’ actions in the video.

The report, prepared by Greater Cincinnati Investigation, Inc. and dated Feb. 11, employed four licensed investigators for approximately 240 hours to take statements from students and chaperones, as well as to interview third-party witnesses and review about 50 hours of video. Investigators were not able to interview either Phillips or Sandmann in person and instead reviewed the student’s written account.

The investigators said they found no evidence that the students responded in an offensive manner to the Black Hebrew Israelites or that they chanted “Build the Wall.” After asking chaperones, they performed a school cheer, according to the report, to drown out the Black Hebrew Israelites.

I hope this follows Nick Sandmann and his Catholic school goon friends around for the rest of their lives.

Certain sects (80 nationwide) of the Black Israelites have been labeled as "hate groups" by the Southern Poverty Law Center, whom I trust with my life to adjudicate such things. We don't know if the participants that day were part of one of those sects. Still, "confrontation" is one of the methods of the BIs:

Hebrew Israelites practice a theology that says God’s chosen ones — black, Hispanic and Native American people — have strayed and need to be led back to righteousness.

So they post up on street corners in big cities, usually in predominantly black communities, wearing flashy garb — purple shirts or black robes, for instance. They shout, use blunt and sometimes offensive language, and gamely engage in arguments aimed at drawing listeners near.

The attention-grabbing tactics of five of their followers at the Lincoln Memorial on Friday resulted in spectacular consequences ...
Provocation is their outreach method of choice. And provoke they did.

There apparently were no good actors in that sorry scene: just two loud-mouthed groups and a poor Native man who tried to bring some peace.

They made sure the case wasn't about racist ACTIONS.

So they could squeeze out by a technicality that tomahawk chops, and starring down a native elder an inch in front of his face and smirking was fine.

The Catholic church has perfected the art of the cover-up over hundreds of years and spent untold treasure to ensure that their corruption never sees the light of day. Such actions only reinforces the entitlement of the little punks and will embolden them in the future. Fertile grounds for recruiting the next generation of degenerates to fill the ranks of the Republican Party.

I’m in the wrong business. I wonder how much they charged to produce that piece of paper? They never talked to the key people. To me it seemed like a synthesis of what everyone from the school said. Period.
