McCarthy Submits A Resolution To Allow SOTU To Go On As Planned

Source: Talking Points Memo

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced on Twitter Wednesday that he signed and submitted a resolution that would allow President Trump to deliver his State of the Union address from the Capitol on Tuesday.

According to Fox News, the document was a concurrent resolution that McCarthy submitted to the House floor. Both the House and Senate would have to adopt it in order for Trump to be allowed to address a joint session.

The video follows Trump sending a letter to Pelosi, letting her know he planned to ignore her request to move the SOTU to a different date. Pelosi responded by saying she wouldn’t authorize an address until the government is reopened.

It's really sad what's happened to him after his death. This must explain where Republicans come from.

All joking aside, The real Kevin McCarthy was a damned good actor.

An out-of-control president requires out of the ordinary tactics to reign him in, and that includes not giving him a forum to spew his bullshit in front of a captive audience.

Keep it up, Speaker.
