Schiff: 'Utterly Irresponsible' For Trump To Announce Pelosi's Plans To Travel 'To A War Zone'

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) claimed Thursday that President Donald Trump revoking a planned congressional delegations access to military aircraft was unprecedented. As far as we can tell, this has never happened in the annals of congressional history, he said.
Schiff was scheduled to travel with the delegation alongside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and others. Speaking to the press Thursday, Schiff said Trump was out of line in discussing the congressional delegations plans, which are usually kept secret until after the trip is completed due to security concerns. The delegation would have traveled to Afghanistan.
Im not going to comment on the Speakers travel plans, he told reporters. Frankly, there has been far too much said about that already. I think the Presidents decision to disclose a trip that a Speaker was making to a war zone was completely and utterly irresponsible in every way.

(2,692 posts)Individual-1 is a 72 year old low-life toddler. He's likely to be ruined financially before this is over. And members of his family may have to do a little time behind bars. But that's about it. A lot of non-family will go up the river for longer stretches. And there will be a lot of property confiscation.
His name may become synonymous with treason, possibly even replacing Benedict Arnold in frequency of reference -- although my real hope is it will become synonymous with taking a dump as in "excuse me, folks, I have to take a Trump" -- and thus deny him the dignity of being despised, like Arnold, for "alpha male" evil.

(2,785 posts)Might help with his base a little, but Pelosi isn't running for President she doesn't have to have high favorable ratings. This just makes Trump look petty. The years the right wing has spent demonizing Pelosi actually works in her favor going against Trump. She is probably at the floor of her popularity and will drag Trump down even further than he is.

(37,648 posts)Or I could have predicted he'd do that. To him, it's tit for tat. When you do something to him, he says, "Oh yeah? Take that!" and slams back with his own flip to you. That's the way he rolls.
Expect Trump to use every tool he has in his wittle box to hit back at his perceived enemies.

(2,574 posts)It goes beyond even an egregious security breach by this President. It was malicious, knowingly violent.

(1,076 posts)Count me in for all the responses above. This is the about the same type of mission compromise that he did in the oval office that day with the paruskys. Disclosed Israeli intel asset.
Did anyone disclose his trip to Iraq?

But again, we see how little consideration Trump has for his own troops.

(36,829 posts)It took Dotard Donald almost two years to visit our troops in Afghanistan.
It took Pelosi about two weeks, but got stabbed in the back.
Her trip would have been bad optics for Donald.

(5,270 posts)You are right he would have really been trolled bad by Pelosi going to Afghanistan after stopover in Brussels defending NATO.
