Sen. Mark Warner Calls for Bill Barr to Withdraw: 'Disqualified Himself' with Unsolicited Mueller Me

Source: Mediaite

by Colby Hall | Jan 16th, 2019, 10:05 am

Senator Mark Warner appeared on MSNBC’s I Wednesday morning and called for William Barr to withdraw his nomination for Attorney General.

While most seem to believe that Barr will ultimately be confirmed by the U.S. Senate, many see the Democratic side of the aisle aiming to ding Barr’s reputation regarding the looming report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

During confirmation hearings Tuesday, Barr differed sharply from President Donald Trump’s “witch hunt” claim and supported former AG Jeff Sessions decision to recuse himself. He did leave open to interpretation how he may release Mueller report findings, to which Warner to take issue.

The Virginia Senator said, “I think Mr. Barr, unfortunately, in a sense disqualified himself when he sent these unsolicited memos that seemed to say hey look at I’m against the Mueller investigation.”

As for Trump he is the master of blackmail. This was his business strategy. Hire some one, then refuse to pay them on some pretext and forced them to sue and bankrupt them or settle for a dime on the dollar. He used the same means to get the Republicans to back him. He said if you don't, I will run as an independent and assure the election of Hillary. He even attempted to blackmail the electorate by asserting that if he lost the election he would not concede. He was willing to threaten a revolt by his supporters rather than honor the principle of peaceful transition to the winner which is the keystone of a democracy.

He is abusing his power of the presidency in an attempt to blackmail the Democrats by shutting down government even though it could devastate the economy. Only a madman would say that they will shut down the government for years to get his way. His sense of negotiating is I get everything and you get nothing. Forget attempting to reason with him since he doesn't have a conscience. He is the of the same cut as Hitler, Stalin and a host of tyrants throughout history. Crush the opposition, jail them, silence them and kill them if they don't comply. He basks in the same fanatical, if not ludicrous, adulation of his simple minded worshipers as did Hitler and Mussolini. He is totally amoral and as a consequence has absolutely no regret in destroying people, in fact he enjoys it because it feeds his ego. His book was badly wrongly titled. He should have been The Art of the Steal not Deal.

Reagan’s policies and illegal practices in South America have, and are still, ruining millions of lives. The "emergency" at our boarder is a consequence of our foreign and drug policy under Reagan. And Barr helped to pardon those fuckers!

He's shown to be nothing but a partisan hack who'll do everything he can to help trump and putin over this country using his radical excuses for decisions, again. All Senators should refuse this appointment until after the government is reopened up. All appointments , and bills shouldn't be passed now until that's done first.

First, why can't any Democrat frame it like this: "With there being literally dozens of qualified individuals for this job, why would Donald Trump select the only one who wrote an op ed memo about the Mueller investigation?"

Secondly, did any Democrat ask him under oath what his motivation was in writing that memo?

Lastly, given that he has already been AG, and given the way most every other cabinet member has been treated, why did he accept the job? There can only be two possible reasons(to either stop Trump or help Trump).

Nothing about that guy telegraphed to me that "I don't need this job". He may not need the money, (Google claims he has a net worth of $20M) but looks like he has a lot of children on the public dole working as public defenders or for the DA's office. Perhaps what is needed for them to move on up to a cushy gig at Kirkland Ellis is a plumb assignment with the AG's office.
