Officers found multiple people with gunshot wounds inside the location. Three male victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately released.

Two others were transported to a local hospital for their injuries, while two more opted to seek their own medical attention, Torrance police said.

There were no reports of injuries to employees of the business.

According to a Los Angeles Times reporter at the scene, witnesses said the shooting stemmed from a fight at the bowling alley. That information has not been confirmed by police.

my first real date when i was 13 was bowling at Gable House. it's been there as long as i can remember, and i'm 63 years old. i played league there until my back went bad and i gave up bowling.

it seems as if eventually everyone will have some if only slight connection to a mass shooting. i feel sick.

the good news is the NRA is going broke which means there won't be a reason any longer for republicans to refuse to enact some common sense gun laws.

7. The gun laws of California are some of the most restrictive in the United States.

A 5-year Firearm Safety Certificate, obtained by paying a $25 fee, submission of applicant data to the state, and passing a written test proctored by a DOJ Certified Instructor, is required for the sale, delivery, loan, or transfer of any firearm.

Handguns sold by dealers must be "California legal" by being listed on the state's Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale

This roster, which requires handgun manufacturers to pay a fee and submit specific models for safety testing, has become progressively more stringent over time and is currently the subject of a federal civil rights lawsuit on the basis that it is a de facto ban on new handgun models.

Private sales of firearms must be done through a licensed dealer. All firearm sales are recorded by the state, and have a ten-day waiting period. Unlike most other states, California has no provision in its state constitution that explicitly guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.

3 dead in shooting at California bowling alley, police say

Updated on: January 5, 2019 / 10:58 AM / CBS/AP

Three men are dead, four others injured as a late-night fight at a California bowling alley turned deadly Friday night in the town of Torrance, a coastal city about 20 miles from Los Angeles.

The Torrance Police Department responded to calls of "shots fired" at the Gable House Bowl shortly before midnight. Multiple victims were found with gunshot wounds inside Gable House Bowl, which is described on its website as a gaming venue that offers bowling, laser tag and a full arcade. Police said three men died at the scene and four male victims were injured.

Sgt. Ronald Harris with the Torrance Police Department said early Saturday that no one has been taken into custody. Officers were looking for suspects.

Authorities have not released details about what led to the shooting, but witnesses said it stemmed from a fight between two large groups of people at the bowling alley.

Wes Hamad, a 29-year-old resident of Torrance, was at the bowling alley with his 13-year-old niece and cousin when he saw a "huge fight" break out. Hamad said the brawl, which lasted about five minutes, blocked the entrance of Gable House Bowl and devolved into "complete chaos."
