In 1977 and 1978, life seemed like one long breezy summer day, and their music was a part of that.

I think I was 10 years old. I drove everyone crazy playing it all the time, then finally I left it in the rear window of our '64 Impala and it melted, to everyone's delight.

I lived, still live, close to the OG on Broadway. The one on Watt had more inventory so it started to get more of my attention when I got a car. I understand the movie Empire Records is based on the Watt store.

Cause, as you mentioned, that's where kids with cars went. (Remember the "adults only" room in the back, behind the black curtain? LOL)

Didn't know that about Empire Records, now I will put it on my watch list!

From this article, she said the reason for the divorce was "He just couldn't be affectionate, he couldn't just give me a hug. ... And I don't blame him because he came from a very, very difficult family and he had a famous but overbearing father."

While not a great song their's was actually a cover of America's 1973 minor hit. Imagine that, there was two hit versions of this song!

She wanted someone more openly affectionate and traditionally romantic, which was something he seemed incapable of. If he's as emotionally distant as she described, I wonder if he has Asperger's. But she came from a home with an alcoholic father and like lots of children of alcoholics, she spent decades trying to "fix" her broken relationship. They were basically forced to get married by their record label, but she's an adult. She certainly had money and could have left her rotten marriage at any time. She wrote a very self serving memoir a few years ago.

He definitely had issues. Expected the world to revolve around him. I’m surprised she hung in as long as she did. Good that they stayed friends.
His dad was Carmen Dragon, composer, arranger and director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

an arrangement of America The Beautiful in summer band, arrangement by Carmen Dragon. I did not know for a long time that he was related to Daryl. Other than that I only knew the Captain and Tennille by the 2 top 40 songs they had. Too bad. Renal failure is not without a lot of discomfort.
