One of incoming Sen. Mitt Romneys (R-Utah) top political advisers has reportedly been fielding calls from donors urging Romney to consider a 2020 run against President Trump.
Spencer Zwick established Romneys donor network during his two previous presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
Zwick routinely takes calls from donors encouraging Romney to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020, two people familiar with the discussions told The Washington Post.

(56,828 posts)Trump runs the RNC now and they're rigging the primary process so many of the early primary states are going to just skip primaries to endorse Trump.

Other states are expected to follow suit. (I think NH is talking about it as well)

(15,433 posts)Would you rather run against Romney or Trump in 2020? I think Trump would be easier to beat.

(24,703 posts)that bilked just in the state of New York out of 400 million in taxes and then sold the country out...................just like you have done to Toy R US along with Goldman Sachs giving the former employees exactly what in severance pay, they had to go to court to get anything, and your track record selling businesses is just fucked up....................while your buddies raked in millions selling off the assets...................go fucking figure, you haven't even been warming up your seat in the senate for one day and the libertarian fascist are calling.......................FUCK YOU

(7,805 posts)The WARN Act required 60 day notice. Many told me they never remember getting it, or got it the week before they left. In none of the cases does anybody remember a letter addressed directly to them.
20 mil into 33,000 is $600 each; which is far below the $108 Million minimum owed to the entire class.
By the way - there's no one addressing the fact that Bain Capital put TRU into bankruptcy -after Bain acquired TRU by racketeering eToys, Kay Bee, FAO etc.

(7,805 posts)of me (I have a felony record from my teens) against Romney and his 800 radio stations - won't work.
I've never hid my record. Told the very 1st reporter (WSJ July 2005) so that Mitt/ Bain/ Sachs wouldn't blind side the press.
You can't blame Taibbi - totally; because he doesn't control the presses.

(7,805 posts)But Rolling Stone has new owners.
Likely they ordered him to stay away from the story.
It's a shame; because he could destroy Sachs & Bain, if they would allow him to do so

You are right, people belong in jail.
In particular, Colm Connolly must go. He was a corrupt Federal prosecutor; and now he lied (concealed the material facts) in order to become a federal judge.
Betraying the public's trust is inexplicable & intolerable

(10,279 posts)1. Trump will eat Romney alive with truths about him. (Yes, there is no need to lie about Romney -- the truth is more damning.)
2. The only way the Trump base will vote for anyone else is if Trump is not on the ballot.
Romney can't win without the votes of the Trump base.
