Corey Stapleton announces he's running for Montana governor
Source: Billings Gazette
Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton, a Republican, announced his bid for governor Wednesday morning.
Stapleton posted on Facebook: "Today I am announcing that I'm running for Governor of Montana in 2020! It's been nearly 20 years since a Republican has been elected--so wish me luck
With your support, We. Can. Do. This!"
The Secretary of State's Office later sent an email announcing Stapleton's bid for governor. Current Gov. Steve Bullock, a Democrat, is termed out from running again in 2020.
As governor, Id like to lead the conversation on how we steer towards a Montana that has stronger families and higher wages, lower taxes and smaller government, and how we can lead the nation in having greater freedoms for all of us. Ill work with anyone and everyone to help get us there, Stapleton said in a statement in the email.

I wonder if he corrected the Montana Law when it comes to the public records and transparency on retaining "all" records..............

(50,560 posts)Montana is doing pretty well. And one of the reasons for that is they haven't had a Republican governor in twenty years.

(3,396 posts)I know, hes too moderate for some of you, but in many ways hes the perfect candidate...Republicans cant complain that hes a big city liberal elitist. He has a likeable regular-guy charm, and he focuses on solving problems rather than attacking people. He isnt a household name yet, but neither was Obama two years before he was elected.
