Mueller seeks Roger Stone's testimony to House intelligence panel

Source: Washington Post

Full title: Mueller seeks Roger Stone’s testimony to House intelligence panel, suggesting special counsel is near end of probe of Trump adviser

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III asked the House Intelligence Committee on Friday for an official transcript of Trump adviser Roger Stone’s testimony, according to people familiar with the request, a sign that prosecutors could be moving to charge him with a crime.

It is the first time Mueller has formally asked the committee to turn over material the panel has gathered in its investigation of Russian interference of the 2016 campaign, according to the people.

The move suggests that the special counsel is moving to finalize his months-long investigation of Stone — a key part of Mueller’s inquiry into whether anyone in President Trump’s orbit coordinated with the Russians.

Stone, who has advised Trump on and off for decades and was in contact with the candidate during the 2016 campaign, has been a focus of the special counsel as Mueller probes whether the Trump campaign had advance knowledge of WikiLeaks’s release of Democratic emails allegedly hacked by Russian operatives.

Roger Stone’s Shifting Story Is a Liability
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/11/roger-stones-murky-relationship-wikileaks/574852/

Roger Stone can’t seem to get his story straight. In 2017, the political world’s most well-known “dirty trickster” denied ever having a direct line to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, as he repeatedly boasted during the 2016 election. Now, in light of new emails showing that he communicated WikiLeaks’s pre–Election Day plans to at least one senior Donald Trump–campaign official in the weeks before the election, his recollection is changing yet again.

Even before the latest email revelation, Stone, a longtime friend and confidant of President Trump, was in hot water with the House Intelligence Committee. Since his September 2017 hearing before the panel, he’s amended his testimony three times as new reports have emerged about his contacts with Russian nationals, the extent of his interactions with WikiLeaks, and his conversations with Trump-campaign officials. Despite those changes, the question of whether he perjured himself before the committee still stands—and is reportedly being examined by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

“Roger Stone had a chance, under oath, to tell the House Intel Committee about his contacts with Russians and WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign,” Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell of California, who sits on the panel, told me. “He misled us and has repeatedly—three times now—amended his testimony to fit new press reporting.” Swalwell noted that the committee’s Democrats voted to send transcripts related to its Russia investigation to Mueller, but Republicans resisted. “The special counsel should see Stone’s transcripts and the accounts of all witnesses,” he added.

Amending doesn't avoid the guilt of the original crime.

So Roger Stone is going to prison. The only question is for how long.

Nail him for lying (again). It seems that is the one thing that pissed everyone off...lying to Congress and/or Mueller. Manafort, Flynn, and who knows who else. Lock them all up.

Mueller has written up Stone like he did Flynn except with no sympathy or deal ...

Judge Sullivan turns around to point at the flag, like he did yesterday with disdain and disgust for what Flynn did and then sends the traitor to jail for years.

There could be a ripple effect to yesterday's proceedings for those who sold out their country ... as there should be.

cleaning a bunch of the Trump-Giuliani-FOX BS up in the media

Facts are stubborn things.

And they are finally speaking for what Mueller is doing.

The allegations of "no collusion" are becoming increasingly hollow .. when a judge starts asking about treason during sentencing ....

You put to much into Mueller, he is a republican and lied during the Bush years. Bush is/was un-American just like Reagan and Trump.

This is the jackass the jackass-in-chief went to for help with his election. A guy with a full back tattoo of Richard Fucking Nixon. Yeah, that's the first person I'd call if I were running for election.

Seeing this piece of snake shit go to prison will warm the cockles of my heart, and I have some pretty big cockles in my heart. I absolutely LOVE the Mueller investigation!

11. Stone plays the tough guy, but he's a coward. He's not going to be Trump's G. Gordon Liddy.

Stone overplayed his hand. Not smart enough, and too much hubris, to remain a d-list provocateur. Strange man. Waited 45 years for relevance, and now justice.
