Chiefs release Kareem Hunt, say RB 'not truthful' about February incident

Source: ESPN

The Kansas City Chiefs have released star running back Kareem Hunt, a decision that came after video surfaced earlier Friday that showed him shoving and kicking a woman in February.

The team announced the move Friday night. Minutes earlier, the NFL had announced that Hunt, 23, had been put on the commissioner's exempt list.

"Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt," the Chiefs said in the statement. "At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately."

In a statement, Hunt apologized for his actions, saying, "I deeply regret what I did. I hope to move on from this."

"We got people who are in high, high, high, high places that have done far worse, if you look at it realistically," Williams said during the radio interview Thursday. "And they're still up there. This is small potatoes [compared to] a lot of things out there. But at the same time, it's a big issue in America today, whether or not it's in football, whether or not it's in everyday life, whether or not it's in politics, it's out there."

How is it that TMZ got hold of the video... AGAIN... that the NFL was unable to get?
This happened with Ray Rice and now Hunt
The NFL has all these former FBI agents, former federal attorneys, etc on payroll and they cannot get anything
TMZ, for some reason, can?

So if you had a choice to get paid for video or not, which one would you chose?

But, does anyone believe the NFL doesn't have the resources to get something like that if they really want it?

10. From what I have read

The hotel where this took place had the video. This hotel refused to release the video to the NFL saying it was their policy to only release it to the police/investigating agency. The police who investigated the incident refused to charge anyone and also refused to release the video the the NFL. So, how did TMZ get the video? Money paid to someone who had a copy of the video who more than likely no longer works either for the hotel or police and who shopped the video to TMZ. TMZ won't release the name of the person they got the video from claiming first amendment rights. If the same person had released the video to a non-journalist they would not have the cover of the first amendment to protect them. So, no money, no protection; money from a "news" outlet and protection.

To a fault.

NFL employs ex CIA and FBI. They were hoping to keep this under wraps. $$$>women in the NFL.

Look how they treat the cheerleaders.

Needs to view this video. There were also no charges filed against Hunt.
All I’m saying is that the decision on whether or not to press charges has nothing to do if an incident happened.
