After clashes with first lady and others, Kelly may soon exit White House

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — John Kelly, mired in conflicts with a widening array of officials from the National Security Council to the office of the first lady, may soon depart the Trump administration, according to seven people familiar with the discussions.

Nick Ayers, Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff, is among those being considered for the job, three of the people said, though President Donald Trump has mused about other possible candidates.

Kelly’s time as chief of staff for most of the past year has been clouded by controversy and disagreements with Trump and various West Wing staff. But questions about his future in the White House recently became more serious after his repeated clashes with national security adviser John Bolton and his deputy, Mira Ricardel.

...snip...

Some current and former White House officials and other people close to the president said it’s the accumulation of incidents in recent months, on top of Kelly’s tensions with first daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, that has led to a desire by the president to seek out a new chief of staff.

just to stick it to Kelly. (She used to be Kelly's chief of staff.)

Oh well. If he is leaving, and if it's true that he was the only one that had any kind of control over Trump's insanity, we aren't even halfway to Crazytown yet.

Shit's about to get real weird.

I mean this WH is totally effed up inside and out. These people are disorganized, disrespectful, mean as hell, evil, sick and sad. The whole WH is mentally ill starting from top to way bottom and this also includes the GOPs.

this possible change is said to be from conflicts with Melania. Actually, there have been stories for months that he and Trump are at odds - so it is very likely because Trump knows Kelly does not respect him - even as Kelly does respect the presidency.

It is stunning that the First Lady with the least credientials is said to have that power. Imagine if Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama, both Ivy league lawyers would have pushed out their husband's chief of staff.

There was a little bit of dismay at the time (more later, after Regan wrote his tell-all), but not much, because It's OK If You're A Republican.

Bolton must be as insecure as Cheeto if he feels he has to get rid of Kelly in order to keep his job. This "palace intrigue" stuff is getting very monotonous, making me long for the good ol' days of Ivanka, Jared and Steve Bannon.
